Drilling through solid stone. Setting 1.75 T-posts in the ground. Perfect tool for that job. Just knock off the small plate at the bottom.

I had to rent a SDS Max hammer drill and I drilled two holes. One through a 16 inch stone wall and the other through a 12 inch stone wall. Very little wear to the drill bit and obviously no broken teeth. You do need to dip the bit into water every few seconds. Not sure if the folks that didn't have a good experience with this bit were doing that.

2” drill bit broke during very first hole in limestone. Three of the four teeth fell out of the bit head. I returned the item and replaced it with a popular German brand which completed the task flawlessly.

Glad I only had to drill 2 holes. By the time I finished going through 8” of concrete twice this bit was pretty worn out. For the price I can’t complain too much.

We got this to drill post holes through solid basalt, to installed T-posts. It's a PITA. But this bit, while you're not going to do anything in record time, did the job. Our first, test hole, through a solid 12" of basalt, took about 30 minutes, using a corded post-hole drill. The bit itself looks unscathed and held remarkably well. Not cheap, but it's doing some really difficult work, and doing it well.
