The molle straps on this are sturdy and it attaches very securely to my 5.11 plate carrier. It's quite a bit deeper than I anticipated and my Yaesu FT-70D gets lost in it, so I cut a piece of closed cell foam to take up the extra room and position the radio with the knobs flush with the top. It should fit a Baofeng with an extended battery just fine.There is plenty of room on the side for a 90° speaker/mic plug, and the fabric on the sides is pliable enough to work the power and volume buttons on the Yaesu.I removed one star for the cord lock system, however there are some loops to change it so that may help.

Quality product you would expect form 511 however the retention function was a bit weird so after a little modification it work just how I wanted it to.

Built like a tank, holds either my XTS5K or APX6K. Molle system is well made and configured so you can use it as a belt pouch, too. The only issue I have is that the velcro tab and cordlok setup is fiddly to insert & remove the radio. Once it's in, however, it's staying in :)

I bought this to hold my Baofeng UV-5 radio with a headset adapter and extended battery. I fits in easily, but is a little too roomy for this setup and flops around a bit. The construction is first rate and the MOLLE straps are superb.I don't personally care for the shock cord "closure" but that seems to be the standard. It's easily configured to snake around the radio knobs and antenna. This pouch is as good as it gets for one that is not molded for/to your particular radio setup.I will get around to cutting some custom foam inserts for it at some point in the near future, and that will elevate it to 5-star performance level

Surprise surprise - Amazon actually both pictured and described this product correctly! (Be sure to read detailed descriptions carefully - and reviews - when buying 5.11 products until the Amazon buyers get their act together on this fine accessory line.) Like all the other 5.11 products in this line, well built and purpose-perfect. The Slickstick Molle connectors are a wonderful innovation. This pouch fits perfectly either on the front of the shoulder straps of my Rush72 bag on top of the C5 (which Amazon calls large) cell phone pouch - OR - would also strap perfectly on the Molle system on the side pockets keeping a whip antenna out of your face, high and behind. There is a wide top strap on the Rush72 shoulder straps perfect for a remote mic clip. My Yaesu VX7R fits comfortably and completely in this pouch. Don't expect a large brick radio to fit - designed for current generation portables. Pouch also works for the largest Garmin GPS/GMRS radios. For tall radios, a mini bungee and Velcro tab on the front will keep the radio snugly in place. I am buying a second one to keep the GPS up front and transceiver on the back. If you look carefully, virtually all the accessory products can be obtained via Amazon Prime - my favorite purchase on Amazon this year! (Amazon Prime, that is.)
