Uncomfortable and stiff, the so called lumbar support is mid back. Cannot mount to sliding pedestal without mods. The underside pedestal mount is up about a half inch from the bottom of the seat, spacers will need to be added. See other buyer's on this also. I should have bought the ~$50 plain Jane folding boat seat, way more comfortable.

They are pretty stiff not very much padding, makes them uncomfortable for a 200lb person to sit in. Still nice upholstery was done well, nice colors.

I have a smaller 21' closed bow boat in which doesn't allow much room in the cockpit, therefore I ordered these after reading some reviews that they were smaller than expected. They worked perfectly in terms of size for me, and exactly what I wanted, but in most boats they don't compare to normal captains chairs sizes. I was happy with them at first, but after being installed, the second time I took out my boat a stitch where you sit came out and started to get worse. If it got much further the seat would have started separating. I was having a custom snap cover made and asked the guy doing it if he could do anything for the seat. Luckily he was able to hand stitch it up a little bit to at least stop it from getting worse. The cushion does velcro off, but its still oddly stitched into the seat so you can't remove the cushion all the way, therefore he couldn't use a machine to sew it. (I shouldn't need to worry about that on a brand new seat though!!!!)Also, during installing them, I had to cut the bolts given to me down to exactly an inch to fit tightly into the bottom of the seat thru my pedestal. They were way too long and anyone that tries to tighten them at that length is going to strip out the metal insert in the plastic bottom of the seat, so be careful.Overall I'm disappointed and wish I had spent a whimsey 50 bucks more per chair and got the nice Taylor Made ones that are similar to these.

I had to find some shorter bolts to mount to the pedestal. I just cut out the mesh to match the base so it's not stretching on the seat. No big deal, but it is on the "firm" side...

This chair was great for the first three months, however then it started to discolor. The discoloring is a reddish color on the sides and seat which is very odd and looks horrible. It appears the pigment is coming from the material inside the seat but I don’t know exactly how the seat was constructed. The boat (and seat) was stored in a garage and only had a few months of being in the sun prior to the discoloring. For the amount paid for the seat, I expected better quality.
