I wired this plug up to plug in to my shift solenoid. After soldering and heat shrink everything worked as it should. Would recommend.

The product was a perfect fit. Easy removal of the centre console. Remove 6 screws - 2 under the plastic wood like trim that covers the shift lever and 4 in the base of the storage compartment. Lift up and disconnect the 2 electrical adapters for the 12V lighter and the USB and the whole console lifts out with the shift lever in neutral. Replacement of the this part solved my shifting/ lock problem that was getting worse because of 2 loose wires in the old adapter.

This fit perfectly. You see, Chev Impala had a problem with the wires to the shifter button (which control a solenoid to pull a lock pin from the shifter) breaking. The reason is that this particular set of wires moves every time you shift. This PT3923 is the correct replacement, and I suggest "curling the wires" before installing. That is wind them individually tightly around a screwdriver shank. Then carefully match the wires to the existing ones one by one, as you remove the old ones. Get the harness connected as far back as you can, because these wires are better quality than the originals. I soldered and shrink wrapped mine, and they work extremely well. The curls in each wire are to give flexibility, since this whole set of wires moves the entire travel of the shifter every time you put it into and subsequently out of gear. All the best;
