I play a passive Yamaha BB bass. Don’t be fooled by this tiny pedal, it’s got serious juice to punch your bass into the mix. It is almost dummy proof. On/off w the step button and 2 dial controls. Also, cleans up tone and makes it buttery smooth and the sustain hangs forever.I put dial each at 9 o’clock. If I could give this sick little pedal 6 stars I would.

I've played bass in bands for decades and have never used any footpedals to add to my tone, as I was able to shape my tone through my guitar's controls and my amp. Up until a year ago, my primary basses had been two Fender Jazz and a Fender Precision. However, the last two basses I've bought have had active pickups and brought tons of tone and volume such that even my Precision, a beast of a guitar, could not compete.I mentioned this to a friend who turned me onto the Aguilar DB925. I researched it, watched some YouTube videos about it and decided to try it out.It is, in short, a fantastic pedal that does exactly one thing: it will boost the tone and volume on my Fender basses to a level where they can compete with my newer basses. The newer ones still produce a louder tone than the Fenders, but now I'm not ready to relegate my older models to a wall-hanger.There's only a bass and treble knob that you can adjust to your liking, which makes it easy to adjust on the fly, as my Jazz requires one setting and my Precision another (the basses with active pickups don't require the pedal's use). However, I'm only giving the pedal a 4-star rating for one detail. The adjustment knobs are not lit, nor were the indentions in the knob painted, so one would have no idea exactly to where to turn the knob. I remedied that by painting the knob indentions with white paint, as you can see from the photo. If Aguilar corrects that minor shortcoming, I'll be glad to give the unit a 5-star rating. This is the only bass effects pedal you may ever need. It's worth every penny.
