I have bought this fan 3 times over the past 10 years. Love it. Fits my window perfectly. I 've had it on low Exhaust all day every day even in the winter. Any one that wants to have odor free air in their room needs to try this fan for them selves

Out of the box, installation is difficult with just one person. It's easier to just have someone hold the fan while you screw it in. The fan doesn't rattle or shake at all, the blades are perfectly balanced. It's relatively quiet for what it does. If you're in the same room, you're gonna notice it. If I'm in a different room, I barely notice it if at all.Since I've had it, I'm able to get away with no AC until temps enter the mid-80s. You can feel it moving air through the entire floor it's on. Ultimately I'd say its worth a shot. It sounds like some people get some with unbalanced blades, but overall it's well constructed, and has been well worth the money for me!

Installed within minutes like a dream, is whisper quiet, blades are balanced perfectly, fits tight and pulls in oceans of cool air at night through the open windows. The only thing we needed to accommodate was that we aren't able to shut the window behind the unit. Truthfully though, neither of us is bothered by that. The unit removes as easily as the old box-fan it replaced, but goes back in effortlessly, where the box-fan required jimmying the cardboard or whatever we were using that year to control the air-flow around the unit. Painful process, inefficient (crikey! The air flowed BACK inside, around the edges!) and noisy, like that place we almost lived with a train running outside. (Realtor forgot to mention. Fortunately we were in the backyard when the train ran through).Needless to say, we are beyond pleased with this one. Superb quality. Moves the air like no tomorrow! And i can hear the tv again... ;-)if anyone has a clue how to slide the window shut behind the unit, please leave a comment! Thank you ;-)

Negative air pressure ftw.We have it installed in the 3rd floor attic window. All it takes is opening a window on the first floor, on the shady side of the house and the fresh air streams through the entire house. You can literally feel the breeze. It greatly helps cooling and airing the entire three floors. Would totally recommend it.

7/6/17 : Fan motor died last night. We got four years of seasonal use out of this unit. I installed it and left it in the window all year long. So for about 3.00 a month this unit saved me what we'd spend on electric for central air or 3 window units in our house + the initial cost of the AC units themselves. We think it was worth it. Will buy again. This unit works the best if its kept clean. Ours got alot of dirt build up on the frame and blades. Also dirt accumulates on the window screen where air is pulled in from outside. If those three things are kept clean (Maybe 2 hours of clean up at the end of each season) the unit moves air like new each season.May 2016: The first one we recieved was fryed, right out of the box. The box had a big dent in one corner. The fan itself looked fine but only 3 of its six speeds worked. The fan didnt have a template with it either.Amazon shipped me a new one right away. The second arrived in better shape, no major dings or dents to the box. Some of the screws were missing so I had to pirate from the DOA fan. But it did have the template which made installation a snap. The fan works fine now. Cools the downstairs down pretty quick in our 1000 sq ft. home. (We dont use our upstairs much). We've had it about 3 weeks and no problems, as long as we remember to keep enough windows open in the house when its on exhaust. Its a powerful fan and the motor strains if you dont give it enough supply air, creating some noise. Thats operator error NOT a manufacturer defect!I'd still recommend this to anyone with a smaller home that wants to cool their home on sub 85 degree days. Eighty five and up, especially with humidity...turn on the AC.
