Great fins for body-boogie boarding. They have a ton of power and are very durable. I would recommend you buy some fins socks to make them more comfortable and also stop the sand from rubbing the tops of you feet but again you cannot go wrong with these fins. Note: I also use them in my neighborhood pool to get a good work out as they really load up you quads etc. and give you more resistance when you swim.

I had a pair of Churchill Makapuu fins (Malaysian rubber), they have lasted me 7 years, I love them and still keep them as a spare pair, but I couldn't get myself to buy the new China made ones. So, after hearing good reviews about Ally fins I decided to give them a try. I bodyboard and these give me the same power and feel as the original Makapuu fins. I have used them out in the water for about two weeks now, once in head high- overhead conditions and they don't disappoint. They are comfortable now after these two weeks, but you might have to break them in a bit to get your foot used to them. I am a size 11-12 in shoes and the large fit fine. I am happy with the purchase and always look forward to getting in the water with these now.

In the past I've had Churchills (90s), Custom X (mid-late 90s), Vipers (late 90s), and Toobs Bluntcut (2000s-present). Back then the rubber was dense, strong and sturdy with little to no buoyancy. These fins seem to be a lot more flexible with decent buoyancy. It provides a lot of long powerful pushes on each stroke and works great for body surfing, bodyboarding, and snorkeling.Ocean swimming and body surfing with these were very easy to use and gives a lot of propulsion. Bodyboarding is great for take-offs and not bad for DK (drop knee). It was fairly easy to swing your leg from the side onto the board for DK. Snorkeling was a cinch because of the long strokes providing good propulsion in the water. The only thing I didn't like about it was the fact that it's like the churchill, but softer. So getting into the water (waves at the beach) its a bit harder to run and dive into the shore breakers with your bodyboard. I find myself dragging or stepping on the fins more often than any of the blunt cut fins. This is a personal thing and to resolve that I would just high-step run into the water.

MAY 2015 UPDATE... Alas I lost one of these as I was coming out of the water this week.. Lasted me about 18 months... They say they float.. OK maybe on a calm lake this would be useful lol.. Do NOT expect to recover one of these floating on top of the surf with current and rip and yeah... But I must say these served me well and I am ordering another pair.. Wore them probably once or twice a week for 4 or 5 hours a day bodyboarding for two full Texas Summers..I bought these for Body Boarding.... I initially bought a XL as I am a size 13 and the Large said it fit up to 12.5The XL was huge.... but sizing says XL is 13.5 and up... so my 13 kinda fell in the middle. The Large does fit me though after a whole day of body boarding there were some very bad lines on the top of my feet that hurt and was very sore. So one size fits most may not fit you...I do like the fins were easy to put on IN the water. So I could drop them off and then walk out and then put them on 100 feet offshore. They propelled me well... I wish they did not hurt as much after a few hours but then again I can say that about any pair of fins I put on.
