I installed it and tested it using my MKRJ 12 string acoustic. It is much better than the factory pickup. I took apart old preamp and unsoldered the 2 existing wires. Soldiered the 2 wires from the new pickup, put entire preamp back into the guitar placed saddle in slot on top of the new pickup, tapped across the bridge using a guitar pick. Volume was even and strong. Put strings on the guitar and tuned it up. Hooked up to the acoustic guitar rig. It was powerful, I had to turn down the input for the preset, set EQ and FX. It sounds absolutely magnificent! The magic is there now!BUY IT! I recommend it!

This is a PASSIVE under saddle bridge pickup. it does NOT need a preamp or EQ to work, just plug and play or in this case, solder and play! I built a guitar and didnt want to mess with a battery and eq setup. this worked perfectly! Just solder it direct to the output or to the switch or in line with volume and tone control and it works great! In fact along side an electric pickup, the sound was perfectly balanced! The only thing I can't compare it to is other passive under saddle pickups in respect to tone quality. this is the first one i have used in this guitar. i may buy a few others to see how it compares tone sound quality wise. but compared to my other acoustic guitars as far as sound level and tone i was honestly VERY pleasantly surprised! out level is great! Again, i cant talk about how it compares from a tone standpoint as i havent put it up against other pickups, but for the price, i sure wouldnt put it up against a fishman ag-094 although id be curious what the fishman would sound like compared to this, i would hope or think night and day. might try and let you know!

I have tried three other brands of thinline red acoustic bridge pickups and none of them really had much output if they even worked at all. I am pleasantly surprised with the Alemejo thinline piezo pickup as it has a strong clear output plugged directly into the amplifier without the need for an intermediate Di box or pre-amp. I installed this pickup in my 1971 Epiphone 6830 acoustic under a bone saddle that I sanded down. The pickup produces a very clear toned acoustic sound through a 2002 Fender Acoustasonic Junior amp. This pickup sounds just as good as the $$$$ Martin thinline pickup I had in this guitar that eventually failed.
