I was so sad when they quit making the lone peak trail runner mids. I found these, and have been very happy with them, until the suede toe box wore through with just minimal use. Just out of the 1 year Altra warranty, too. Altra needs to up their game for these prices

These shoes are amazing!!! They have held up to a few trails, I have terrible ankles and these shoes offered so much support in the places I needed them for extremely stable. The soles are very tough and have held up to some rocky terrain. I have a wide toe box and these are perfect! They are very nice looking shoes, I love the colors and stability of these shoes. They repel water very well.

I’ve gotten the lone peak altras in 11 men’s and have about a quarter inch to half in extra space but these in 11 are too small so might be a good idea to order half an inch bigger for me at least but I love Altra and only wear altras now

These required zero break in. I was able to do a 3 day backpacking trip with a 50+ lb pack up into the alpine, crossing steep snow fields, handling rocky single track, and doing some very steep climbs and descents with zero issues. Not a blister or a Hotspot to be found. I have owned the Lone Peak trail running shoes for years, so these were so easy to transition to for hiking and backpacking. They are flexible enough to feel the trail, but the rock guard insert keeps your feet protected against rock bruises. I highly recommend these. I'd only recommend hitting the suede with some additional waterproofing like scotch guard. The water never made it inside the shoes, but the suede does stay a little saturated for longer than the rest of the shoe.
