I like this meter.I just wanted a meter to get an idea of wind speed before flying my drone. This fits my needs perfectly, also the thermometer is an added bonus.I have read where others have issues with the other complicated measurements, but as my needs are basic I can’t comment on those issues. The case is neat, the meter has the screw socket for fitting on a tripod,(which also doubles as the socket for the carrying strap). The display is nice and big and the backlight is a useful feature.I can see where some people are confused by saying it accepts 2 AAA batteries(which is not the case)on the back of the battery compartment it does say 2 AAA batteries, but upon opening the compartment there is a lithium 3.7v modular battery which you have to connect before use.The charging is via USB-C cable which is provided and that’s a nice touch, where so many rechargeable items still come with micro usb these days. All in all I like this anemometer, with the caveat that my uses for it are basic. On that note I would not hesitate to recommend it,if your uses are more complex then you may want to look elsewhere.

I initially ordered this to measure wind speed for shooting. I soon thought of several different uses around the house since I have tried to adjust the vents in several different rooms in the house and after making an adjustment have only been able to hold my hand over the vent and guess if had made a change or not.I looked online for "how to measure airflow with an anemometer" and found several helpful videos (and some way beyond my needs). In most cases they suggest that you set your anemometer to "average" mode so that when you move over the entire vent, you capture the average flow, not just what it was in one spot when you happened to notice. I have checked the manual and there does not appear to be an average setting on this unit. There is an email address for support listed but no web site. I will contact support and see what happens. If that function exists (and works) I would add a star, if it does not I would take off another.

I ordered this unit to be able to accurately make adjustments for windage when target shooting. The unit is very easy to use and gives all the info you need to adjust for windage when shooting a distances to ensure you stay on target. This unit has a multitude of uses and would be an excellent choice for determining wind flow in heating and cooling vents for multilevel houses. The unit is easily charged and lasts for a long period of time in the field. You have the choice of different measurements and I can see this being very useful for people flying drone to make sure they are not flying in circumstances beyond the drones capability. One reviewer said it can use AAA batteries but the rechargeable unit I recieved does not have any terminals inside to use AAA batteries, just thought it was worth mentioning in case other think it has that capability. A simple to use unit with a wide range of uses. Happy with the order and fast delivery.

I should have listened to the prior review, but it was short on any specifics. For measuring air speed it seems to work just fine. But, go into the air volume functions and it is a complete joke where it is clear the software developers of the product didn't have a clue as to what they were doing. Specifically, when you try to enter the area, regardless of if you have it set to sq ft or sq meters, it changes to sq meters. When you enter the sq meters and exit the screen, when you change the units to sq ft it calculates the sq ft wrong, it takes the sq meters and applies a sq ft -> sq meters calculation instead of sq meters -> sq ft. Meaning, if you entered 100 sq meters, when calculating sq ft it gives you 9.29 instead of 1076! 100 sq ft = 9.29 sq meters. Completely backwards.Worse yet, the CFM calculation is actually the CMS (cubic meters per second) calculation, and the CMS is the CFM. But, when calculating the CMM/x10 (cubic meters oer minute) it uses the CMM (which is really CFM), so that is totally wrong too. To top it off, it doesn't even use the area data to correctly calculate the CMS/CFM/CMMx10, so you end up with completely bad data.It is obvious that there was absolutely no testing done during the software development of this product of rate air volume feature set. The manufacturer should be completely embarrassed to put something so completely untested into the market with such obvious software flaws.I give it 2 stars because the air speed measurements appear to work fine, and that is all you will get from this device.
