Very easy to install. They also provide a replacement filter which is a bonus. We did notice a reduction in chlorine smell, but other wise haven’t noticed a huge difference.

If you have have hard water where you live, then water filters are a must. Where we live we do have hard water so we will get mineral deposits on the the shower heads and faucets. Filters like this will help as the filters will get clogged trapping the deposits instead of your shower head getting clogged and becoming unusable. The housing for the filter is a two piece plastic body with silver plated finish. I would prefer if it were made of aluminum or stainless steel for durability and ease of installation.We had an issue with the first filter housing as the thread pitch was incorrect. It would not screw into the shower arm no matter how many times we tried it, and because it is plastic, the threads are very easily stripped, and because the fit was so poor it would just leak. However when we screwed in the shower head, it spun on super easy like it is supposed to. We emailed the company and they sent out a replacement ASAP. The next housing still didn't screw on very easily and I am guessing their mold for the plastic is off. In any case the new housing did screw in to the shower arm but it wasn't as easily as a shower head. You also have to remember to use the rubber washer in both ends so that it won't leak once it is installed. One thing you should be aware of is that the filter will lower the height of the shower head so if you have a shower with a low height, you may find that the filter is unusable as the shower head will be too low for you to stand under it. Our shower now barely fits us because it is very close to the top of our heads when we shower, so you may find you need to return this if it makes your shower head to low.Water flow is reduced because it has to go through the filter but its not a drastic reduction and my wife and I don't mind. I can't give this 5 stars because of the issues it may or may not have with installation, and that it might make your shower head too low for actual use but I will give it 4 stars.

We were using a different brand of shower filter for about a year and that worked okay but with a few drips. We followed the schedule and replaced the filter at each 6-month interval as instructed but just shortly after the one-year warranty passed it spouted a large leak from the center seal. The seller tried to help but to no avail. We decided to try a different brand, saw this one on Amazon and it seems to work better than the other. Water pressure is good and a bit more powerful than the previous filter, no minor drips, skin and hair feel softer. An interesting difference between this and the other filter is the shape of the barrel. The barrel on this one is a hexagon shape. There are 6 flat sides on both the upper and lower parts so it's easier to get a hold onto the barrel to open and close when changing the filter. The other barrel was round on both halves and very hard to open. This may sound like a nonsense complaint, but it becomes an issue when can't open the barrel to change the filter. Another benefit for us when using any shower filter is it extends the shower head down a little further. The shower head in our bathroom was installed quite high and the filter drops it to a more normal, reachable height. We'll need to wait and see how this one performs after a year but until then I'm giving a 5-star rating.

I highly recommend this shower filter as well as the entire AquaHomeGroup filter setup -- where I live, the water is so hard and has so many unwanted minerals that my showerheads and sink literally form mineral buildup stalactites. My hair would always be stiff like straw when I got out of the shower, and my skin constantly felt dried out. I purchased the AquaHomeGroup 20-stage filter (this product) and the AquaHomeGroup Vitamin C E A showerhead with cartridges, and I have noticed a significant difference in the way my hair feels. When I change out the filters, I am always shocked at how much buildup they have caught and prevented from going into my skin, hair, and eyes. I like this setup so much that I recommend it constantly to friends and family, and have even given these products as birthday gifts. After I gave one setup to my mom for her birthday, my dad was so impressed that he bought this filter setup for every bathroom in the house. All this to say, this filter makes a significant difference and these products WORK.
