I put this inside of a 19" rackmount power supply for a piece of equipment because the old AC fan was absurdly loud. Keep in mind this is a PRESSURE optimized fan, which is ideal for my purposes in the box I have it in. I have it running off of the AC mains line with a small DC bucking converter PCB (also from Amazon and very cheap) and it is very quiet and has good airflow. The power supply unit stays nice and cool with no issues and this is probably better at cooling that the big loud original fan.

I bought several fans from different companies and compared them. The silent fans are only silent because they have less air flow. The airflow and sound level specifications on the company website do not match the numbers I got in real tests. The same result can be achieved by buying super cheap fans and adding a resistor to reduce the speed. I am not happy with this purchase at all. I will put this same review on all the fans I compared, so if you see it again, that's why.

This fan is far from silent. If you run it above 50% it starts to make some noise and at 100% it gets pretty annoying. The good news is, even at 50% speed this fan moves quite a bit of air for its size. It's kind of impressive, although not "silent".

The quality and the price are good. These will work perfectly for what I need. However they do have a slight noise to them.
