Overall a pretty nice tech suit. The Arena tech suits are meant more for wearing during race meets in competitive swimming, so it will fit on the snug side in order to provide compression to muscles, as opposed to more stretchy practice suits. It is on the moderate price side for a tech suit at $175, compared to some of Arena's more expensive lines, and does come with the FINA approved barcode. It is still decently expensive compared to most practice suits, though. The seams feel high quality and it fits snugly for me.

My son is into competitive swimming - being in the school team previously, in a club team and now in a university team. He is consistently competing on a high level and has a scholarship in his college for swimming. Obviously over the years, we have invested thousands in his swim wear - tech suits being the biggest cost. This Arena suit is really good. He has had top of the line compression tech suits which are great - but he does complain that they are difficult to put on and take off and slightly a bit "rigid". This suit fits tight but not uncomfortably so, has that "shark skin" layer for slippery feel. Because it's not as compressive as his other suit, I suspect and guessing that it may be ever so slightly slower but I bet it is less than 0.05 seconds - nothing I would worry about at all. Perhaps the comfort will allow him to swim the same. He has tried this in practice and he says it is good - no competitions yet and this really is very hard to quantitatively determine. The price is good for a tech suit (still crazy in my mind) but he likes it and we all try to give our kids the best opportunity. The seams are very flat and it has the bar code on the back to prove that it is a tech suit when in competition. My son wears a 36/38 pants and we got the 34 waist and it fits good and tight as a tech suit should

Size chart is not the most accurate. 2 size bellow the recommended size would be ideal.Product itself is a good product.

I ordered these for my son who is a keen swimmer and competing at school. I was a little skeptical at first as they looked tiny when I took them out of the box, I mean really really small. My concerns were unwarranted as these fit perfectly on him and have been excellent for him to use. I ordered a size 28 waist. He is a 30 waist but these are ideal. The waistband does not slide down and stays firmly in place but is comfortable to wear in water. These have definitely been designed by athletic swimmers as a lot of care and detail has been put into the manufacturing. He says it feels like there is very little resistance while he is swimming and he can achieve faster speeds. The branding looks modern and sleek and they are flattering to wear too. They dry pretty quickly and so far have been easy to wash. We do not dry these in the machine, instead we just hang them up. They dry very quickly without the machine. These are not inexpensive but I think good quality and i'm glad I found these for my son.

I grew up as a competitive swimmer, but over the last few decades have let it fall by the wayside. I'm hoping to get started again soon, but my old "speedo"-style training/racing suit I bought 10-15 years ago was falling apart as all lycra suits eventually do. So I (a) needed to replace it and (b) I'm not sure you're "allowed" to wear an old-school speedo style these days :-)Enter the surprising appearance of this modern jammers-style Arena racing suit on Vine, with perfect timing! I figured I'd give it a try, and based on the reviews I saw I got the largest size (34) even though in most other clothes I'd have gone with a 32 - I'm by no means in great shape any more, but I'm 6'2" and ~200 lbs, still with relatively slim legs and hips (the waist - that's another story, but these suits aren't worn up at the waist).Once the suit arrived, yes it looks small when holding it, but lycra swimwear always does. I even used to have what we called a "paper suit" which was one of the first "performance fabric" suits back in the 90s, basically lycra woven differently and which had little give. Felt paper-like and sat very flat and compressive on the body. I figured these jammers would be similar.Well... this suit makes that "paper suit" look relaxed in comparison! I was able to get it on (not without effort though!), and from what I understand this is likely a correct fit for me (unless I was an elite swimmer in which case they often size down and need help getting the suits on!). Despite being very snug, it was in no way uncomfortable once I had it on. All the seams are flat-stitched and unnoticeable while wearing it. They seem very strong and I didn't notice any hint of possible failure despite the tightness of fit The crotch area (front and back) are double-lined presumably for added support/compression and modesty. There's a drawstring to tie, but I'd be shocked if it were needed to keep the suit on! This thing isn't going to come off on its own...So right now, I'm happy with this and won't feel out of place heading back to the pool. I'm not sure how long this suit will last as a training suit, but it'll be good for me to get used to the new style and feel and then I can go from there with getting more, if I manage to keep heading to the pool.Recommended, especially if you're actually competing!
