This arm trainer is just OK in my opinion. The materials feel kind of cheap and it is not very easy to use. Once you get the hang of it it is a good work out but I’m not sure I’m willing to put in the effort when there are easier options out there. I got this at some thing to do while multitasking but it requires my full attention.

I have had one of these in the past and it used a string to start the gyro spinning. This was slow to set up and cumbersome but it got the wheel spinning very fast. I learned how to get it started by flicking the wheel with my thumb and building up speed with it in my hand. This gyro has a mechanism like a wind up car for kids. You push the wheel in the direction of the arrows until you start feeling resistance and then let it go. The wheel jumps into motion so you can start the gyro exercise. It doesn’t start spinning very fast so it still takes a bit of technique to get it up to speed but it’s way easier than the old string technique.Overall a good gyro, it can definitely build up a lot of torque in your hand to work your grip and forearms.

The concept is good and I need something to exercise my wrist and hands with but I can’t get the device to work. I watched the video and tried many times. I think I might have gotten a defective one.

If you are familiar with Gyro balls then this product should be a good upgrade for you due to upgraded QOL from a normal Gyro ball.I had to watch a how to video separate from the product video or instructions included because I spent about an hour trying to figure out how to get it to work and couldn't. Hopefully some instructions will make it easier to figure out because if you are doing the exercise wrong it will get frustrating fast and will feel like the ball doesn't work at all when in reality it works pretty darn well.First, you start by pushing the ball part with your fingers in the direction it states while ensuring you don't let it just slide back - It is similar to the wind up race cars when I was a kid. Once you push it back far enough, you will know because it will be to difficult to keep pushing it. Make sure that at this point you are still holding the ball part and once you let go is when you begin the exercise. Once let go, you need to have the outer section held by your hand and then move your wrist back and forth, almost as if you are wiping a curved surface would be the best way I would describe it. You will know its working because you will feel the speed of the ball increase and start to feel a lot of burning in your wrist and forearm. The faster you go the harder it becomes. It definitely takes some time to learn how to use one of these but I really believe that using this ball to work out your forearms and wrist are much better than the alternative exercises using dumbbells.
