My wife and I just took over care of a blind golden retriever. There is not a lot of helpful information out there about caring for a blind dog. This particular dog only went blind in the last year, so he does have the ability to handle stairs and such (once he finds the staircase). His biggest issue is walking into things. He had several head wounds when we got him (not fun) from bonking into furniture, walls, doors, cabinets, etc. He has now memorized our house so things are much better. With the halo on he definitely runs into far less things. It took him just a few sessions for him to get used to it. We no longer need it on him in the house, but if we take him somewhere new we will definitely use it. He is a medium large dog at about 60 pounds and the largest size available when we ordered is just big enough.

Everything about the construction seems to be of good quality. The halo continued to get caught on things and actually slowed down my dog. Returning.
