My husband is really into fermenting and pickling, and he’s been wanting a set like this for a while. We already have plenty of mason jars saved from different food items, so this kit was exactly what he needed to get started.Although we haven’t used it yet, he was really excited to receive it. It comes with everything you need for fermenting, except the jars, making it a great starter kit. The glass weights feel solid and heavy enough to do the job well, and the easy-grip handles make them easy to place and remove. The date tracker on the stainless steel lids is a great feature, allowing you to keep track of fermentation times without having to label each jar separately. The silicone tongs are also a nice touch, making it easy to handle the weights without making a mess or splashing brine everywhere.One of my favorite parts of this set is the glass weight holder—such a nice bonus! It keeps everything neat and organized, which I really appreciate. The kit also came with two recipes in the booklet, which is a great addition for beginners looking for guidance on their first fermenting projects.Overall, this is a well-thought-out fermentation kit, and I can already tell it’s going to get a lot of use in our kitchen. If you’re looking for a simple and efficient way to start fermenting, this is a great choice!

I pickle lots of things and generally am stuck storing them in the refrigerator and making small batches so there's no risk of bacteria. Additionally, I don't get to allow things to get as "pungent" as they would if I could safely leave them at room temperature. This kit included everything I need to make this work. And the lids fit just great on all my regular mouth mason jars.The weights are exactly the right size and definitely heavy enough to weigh things down under the liquid. Setting up the burpers on top was easy - although they are a little bit awkward and I wanted to make sure they were in a safe place where I can't accidently knock them off the jar. I feel a lot safer now with my pickled onions, peppers, and other vegetables because I know they're not being harmed by unwanted oxygen.
