Maybe due to the shipping, but the charcoal in these is super soft and keeps falling apart when using a handheld sharpener. Might stay intact better if you use a knife to sharpen gently. Aside from that, the softness of the charcoal does lend itself well to drawing as it goes onto the surface stronger than harder charcoal does.

Decent quality in brightness on paper if you can manage to sharpen it without the charcoal breaking. I've had to sharpen these pencils until there was only half a pencil left to be able to use these at all.

These pencils are terrible! The white is like using a stick to draw with, it just scratches your paper and doesn't even leave any white in return. So hard, complete garbage, my students were unable to even use them because the entire pack was completely useless. Very disappointed.

But pencils break very easily. Easier than what would be considered normal. Otherwise they were wonderful.

They leads inside are shattered pieces the first one I used itthe lead broke out of the pencil everytime it was sharpened so I had to throw it away.
