Read many comments in forum of this unit failing on them. Sadly, I read them too late. Mine sounds great until some channels decide to introduce noise mid recording sessions. Sadly, the noise changes channels so I can't even use the channels that work because I don't know which one is gonna fail next.

The preamps sounds rich on 1&2 the other 6 are very clean.

Great sounding interface that is pretty much plug and play with the Audient id22 as my Interface, recording with GarageBand on my Mac. I've been tracking all 8 tracks at once for my band, Boxcar here in ST. Louis and it's going great. I haven't had any issues or concerns.

I was looking at this for a long time in comparison to similar units from other manufacturers before I finally pulled the trigger. This unit seems to be priced right in the middle of the pack. I use Audients ID22 and have been so pleased with that piece of equipment that I was a bit biased to begin with and willing to pay a bit more to stay with Audient. One thing I'll say is that Audients mic preamps are fantastic, clean clear and open, probably the best preamps you can buy without spending considerably more. They also dont skimp on ad/da conversion. Honestly, you should notice an upgrade just from that alone with this unit.I've had it for about 3, 4 months now and I'm very happy with it. Hmx and iron are cool, let's you dial in some character on some otherwise very very nice pre's.I was a little hesitant at first because this unit's big brother, the asp880 has a better conversion chip - same as in the id22 (the asp800 has the same used in the id14). I wouldn't let that bother you. There is no noticeable difference between the conversion of my id22 and the asp800.It's also worth noting that Audient is a fantastic company with helpful and responsive support. Really everything i could want from a manufacture, a good quality product, reasonable prices, excellent supportu, and a great reputation. As long as Audient keeps putting out products like this, I'll keep buying them.
