This Runcar scale has been marketed as a kitchen scale, but we have decided to use it as a shipping scale instead. With our small business, we do a lot of shipping and have to buy a lot of postage so it is of the utmost importance to have exact weights of each package. If the weights are off, that could result in buying too much or not enough postage. When buying too much postage, there is no refund. The postal service keeps those funds. However, when inadvertently shorting postage fees, the package can be delayed or even sent back to the sender for a correction which delays delivery and can result in losing a customer if they get upset.This scale runs on two AAA batteries which are not included. There is an 'auto-off' feature that kicks in after 90 seconds of non-use. The scale with turn off automatically. The scale is usable up to 11-pounds. Weights can be done in ounces and pounds, or grams if you prefer. If you use a scale for anything around the house, kitchen or not, this is a reliable and accurate scale and I would recommend this to you very highly. The thing that makes this scale unique is that it can read out the weight to you. This is a very helpful feature for those who have eye issues and cannot see the digital display too well.
