Previous model with battery was way better. It was giving the weight faster and the sound was audible.

I chose this device over others because of the design and I got a real winner. There was a lot of attention to detail put into this one.First, Top View Display is centered; which means you can hold the device with 2 hands AND can see the display screen by looking straight down, not on the side like other models; Side view display is a problem because in order to get an accurate reading, what you’re weighing can’t be swinging. If you’re leaning forward or sideway to see the display you’re going to bump it or move it and it’s going to swing. Game over.Second, display screen is centered. Other models have the display screen on one end of the handle which means you can’t hold it with two hands. That’s great if you can hold a 50 lbs- 75 lbs suitcase with one hand AND not let it swing.Third, the grip is soft and very comfortable. Makes a difference if you’re lifting a heavy item and holding it to get an accurate reading.Fourth, the device is common sense easy to figure out, I didn’t even read the directions. You can measure in ounces, pounds, kilograms and a couple others, switching is easy.Fifth, the clip on strap is easy to attach and detach, no fighting with it.Sixth, Display screen is big and easy to read.Seventh, I tested the accuracy by comparing it to items I weighed on a verified postal scale. It was only off by .14 of an ounce, that’s negligible, seriously. This is the most accurate suitcase scale I’ve found period.Eighth, The device is sturdy. I saw a lot of reviews on the sleek plastic models that cracked in half. If this one cracked, I’d be stunned.Note: Make certain when holding the device that your fingers don’t touch the weighing rod or rubber cover on the underside as it can make readings inaccurate.I have zero complaints and will update on how it holds up in a few months. If you don’t see an update, it’s all good!
