This cocking device works great. Factory made so it fits and works perfectly. Handles are rugged and fit your hands well. One or two cycles and you’ll have the knack of it. Good price for OEM purchase. You may want to adjust the length to fit your build but once it’s set you’ll be good to go.

Bought a barnett xp390 and it came with only a crank cocking device which I wasn’t a big fan of so I bought this, this is in my opinion a more tried and true method, lighter weight, and it’s faster. The strings come extra long so it can be used for a wide variety of crossbows, just tie new knots at your desired length and cut off the excess

I have a 150 lb crossbow, so does my brother. (Neither of which are barnett.) This cocking rope still works perfectly for both of them, even though neither one has the groove that Barnett crossbows are designed with that you're supposed to place the cocking rope in when using it. We have to run it up over the butt on ours. This Cocking Aid is plenty long enough to work this way and is still completely safe. By safe I mean there's no risk of it slipping off because both of our crossbows have a slight crescent moon shape to the butt.I also bought 2 "bargain" cocking aids from another website around the same time I got this one. My thinking was to have a couple cheaper ones just for backups in case we lost or broke this one, just to keep in the bottom of our toolbox. Well, the "bargain" ones didn't work at all. Sure they were cheaper, about half the price. (And took a LONG LONG time to arrive, by the way, - which has a lot to do with why it took me over ten weeks to decide to write this review.) Like I was saying, the bargain ones were about half the Price, but seriously didn't work at all, and actually caused damage to my crossbow, which I have only had since January. With the cheap cocking device, when it got within an inch of being cocked, it would just bind and dig into the side of the rail making it impossible to move any farther. The harder I pulled the more it would just bind and dig in. Also, the hooks that hold the bowstring would "jump" the rail if I didn't pull the ropes behind and away at nearly a 45 degree angle until I got to where it binds up. I tried several times to make sure I was using it right before I realized the damage it was doing. The pull handles were too small, awkward, and uncomfortable. The "bargain" device didn't work like a pully system either. It didn't divide the weight, so you still had to pull the full 150 lb. Obviously, they were no Bagain at all. I ended up cutting the rope up into peices on the one that damaged my crossbow and didn't even bother opening the second one, before throwing them both in the garbage. This Barnett Cockiing Aid cost me under $20, when I bought it in January 2018, and it actually does what it is supposed to do. It makes it so you can cock your crossbow with half the draw force than without, making it much easier and safer because when you aren't struggling and straining you have much better control. (And it does it without gouging the sides of the rail of your crossbow - just saying )I really can't stress it enough. This works and it works Very Very well. I am strong enough to draw the string back without a cocking aid but My Brother had open heart surgery a while back so it's impossible for him. With one of these it's easy. Even though I "Can" cock mine without one, it is uncomfortable, it hurts my fingers so I am buying a couple more of these so we each have one and so we have a spare. They are simple to use and even easier to set to your size. To adjust it to fit you, all you have to do is tie a couple of knots. One at each end of the rope. The knot changes where the handles sit, lengthening or shortening the device. It couldn't be easier. If you have a crossbow. Get a couple of these. Really, you won't regret it. They are excellent.
