I USED ONE OF THESE DRILLS TO BREAK THROUGH ASPHALT. SOME ONE PAVED PART OF OUR YARD. SOME ONE ELSE COVERED THE AREA WITH SOIL ABOUT 5 INCHES DEEP. I WANTED TO BREAK THROUGH THE ASPHALT SO PLANTS COULD ROOT BETTER. I DRILLED SEVERAL HOLES CLOSE TOGETHER AND PULLED UP PIECES OF THE ASPHALT. THE DRILL WAS NOT DULLED AND WENT THROUGH THE ASPHALT EASILY.

Got two of these for about the same price as other places were selling one. Because of the price, I assumed the quality wouldn't be on par with other bits and that I'd need two. Not true. I drilled 16 holes (12" deep) in concrete piers for rebar, and I couldn't detect any difference in the bit from the first hole to the last. Work great for me.
