This sun coat was sized SMALL. I wear a 14/16 and this fit me. I don't think you could zip it if you're a larger size. Well, maybe, but you'll look squeezed into it, I think? I don't know, we all have different shaped bodies. So?I ordered this because skin cancer is real and no joke. I know this, yet I can't stand the feel of sun screen on me. This is a perfect solution. Keeps the top of my hands covered and my fingers free. Plus, I don't think the majority of people reapply sun screen often enough. So with this, there's no worries. Even nice in the car. The sun bakes your skin on the window side. This has great coverage! It's amazing how they made this to cover you so well. The firm brim can be zipped off. It's a great brim and shields your eyes from glaring sun! It's black on the underside, to also help with the bright sun. You may even be able to go without sunglasses. The hood has a zipper to let you pony hang out. I'm SO glad it can be kept zipped shut. I don't want the sun drying out my hair. But if that's your look, they had you in mind. It's soft and comfortable. But I do wonder if it's a HOT day out in the sun, this might be too hot to wear? But if it's a cooler day with intense sun, this is perfect! There's a tag with care instruction. Please wash separately in cool to warm water, not warmer than 100F. Preferably hand wash and do not leave it soaking. Line/air dry. Please wash prior to first time wearing it. (Probably best, if you're going to machine wash, to put it in a mesh laundry bag. Because it says to take care at not being forceful with the fabric and keep sharp things away.)Personally, this is how I wash many items, with care. And I'm not going to be sliding down any rocks to damage it. So I have no issues with any of this. This sun coat was made with a great deal of thought and detail. It's sewn well and looks nice on. I'm hoping this will serve me well.

I’m an outdoors person and spend a lot of time in the sun. Recently my dermatologist told me that I should limit my sun exposure because of a changing mole on my leg. I really don’t want to wear long pants all summer so I looked for an alternative solution. I’m pleased with this Jacket. It covers but isn’t heavy. It rained while out and the jacket kept me dry. I like all the options - you can wear it with a mask (which was handy to keep blowing sand out of my face) or not, the attached brim is removable from the hood, the zipper opens from top and bottom and there are thumb holes on the sleeves to keep the sleeves from riding up. The pockets are large. For me, a big perk is that the fabric is so tightly woven it doesn’t get caught on brush. It resisted clinging dried burrs. It’s cool. I threw it in the washer and it came out beautifully. Also… it’s fashionable… it looks more like a nice coat than activewear. I was able to go from a hike to having lunch at a nice restaurant and fit in, instead of feeling like I was wearing grubby hiking clothes.

Autoimmune disease has left me with photosensitivity issues. This means that, at the height of summer, I have to be covered literally head-to-toe during flares. In a subtropical climate where humidity can and does frequently exceed 90%, this makes for extreme discomfort. I was thrilled to have the chance to try this garment and anxiously awaited its arrival. Now that I have it in my hands, I'm a little flummoxed for how to review the product. There's a lot that's commendable or promising about this garment, although I do have to rate it on a hot sunny day for the best intel--and so far it's breezy and overcast where I am. BUT. At first blush, this is (almost) everything I have longed for in a sun-protective garment. It covers everything. It's lightweight. It's breathable. The fabric is silky and cool against the skin. For those reasons, I'm looking forward to using this overgarment for gardening and walks.I have to deduct two stars, though, because the visor cannot be worked with. If you look in the photos of the item, the visor stands out, sort of like a bonnet brim. The visor on my garment was all folded inward when it arrived, and no amount of coaxing could convince it to keep its intended shape. The inside feels as if its interfaced with some sort of very thin plastic or even cardboard, and it will not stiffen up to work as it should. All of this results in a brim that falls forward into my eyes, rendering the hood unusuable.Anyone who deals with sensitivity to sunlight or out-and-out sun allergy knows that shielding your face and head is extremely important--and that's what drew me to this garment the most. It seemed to promise me comfort and protection in a singular, practical piece of clothing as opposed to a cobbled assortment of impractical hats and scarves and long-sleeved clothing. Insead, I'm back to having to supplement with a sun hat, which are often irritating and inadequate when moving around a lot outdoors.I really hope that this issue will be resolved for future customers, because I'd one day like to purchase this garment and have it work the way I was so hoping it would.

It's already getting pretty hot where I live, so this jacket is handy. I've yet to get a sunburn or sun tan while wearing this, and I burn really easily. The brim of the hood unzips and that's really handy because it was bent and basically unwearable. After three weeks of laying on my dresser it's mostly uncreased, but it's definitely not flat yet.If you have long arms you'll have a bit of an issue with the thumb holes. The tugging on my thumbs doesn't hurt, but it's really annoying. This does take the edge off the heat so long as there's at least a little breeze. I'm still hot outside, but I don't feel like I'm dying, so that's a bonus!

I believe this jacket is mostly intended for high temperatures, but I find it works well for my morning walks when it’s cool outside and I’d like an extra layer. The length of the jacket is especially helpful for this because it provides a little more warmth than a regular hoodie. Plus, even though it’s cool outside, it’s still sunny, so the sun protection is also nice. The moisture-wicking fabric and the vented areas of the jacket help in the later portion of my walk where I’ve inevitably gotten warmer and have started sweating. Being able to unzip the bottom portion of the jacket is nice, too, and I really like the zipper slider. It’s curved and so my thumb and forefinger fit securely on it when zipping and unzipping. The hoodie also unzips in the back, which is perfect for a ponytail, and ventilation if I need to keep the hood up, like when it’s raining. The visor can be removed and while it did arrive folded, the creases fell out of it after washing. I also really appreciate the neck piece that zips up to my nose. Perfect for when the air is chilly!I don't think there's anything I don't like about this jacket. It's just really nice and has everything I want for outdoor walking.
