I did a lot of research when buying this tent and I ended up getting this model primarily due to the price and the decent reviews. Having only used big box store Coleman type tents in the past, I wanted something a little better but at a good price.I've had this tent out multiple times in the last 9 months, with the real test being a weekend at Halsey National Forest. A massive thunderstorm came through on our second night with over an inch of rain and 50+ mph winds.I set up this tent using a ground mat, the rain fly, and the provided tent stakes and guy lines. Despite receiving torrential rain, there wasn't a drop of water inside the tent the next morning. The seams are all sealed well and the fly closes down over the zippered tent doors to keep out the wind and rain. With temps down into the 40s overnight, I used a Coleman BlackCat heater in the tent for awhile before going to bed and it warmed the tent nicely. On another trip, it was hotter with no rain in the forecast so I left the fly off completely. It was a joy to lay in bed and be able to look up at the stars and get some nice ventilation.Setup is very simple with this tent, as the aluminum poles are all connected with a bungee cord and are one unit that just snaps together. The smaller size of the tent makes it easy to reach the attachment clips. Tearing down the tent is just as simple, just reverse the steps. Rolling up the tent and getting it back into the bag is not a problem. Just keep it tight as you roll and it will fit.The tent seems durable and I think it will last a long time. I did invest in some heavier tent stakes with a "just in case" mentality after the storm. I did dock the weight one star just because if you're hiking your tent in, this tent probably isn't the best option. But they do sell a smaller version that would probably be more suited as a hiking tent.I bought the 2-3 person version, and honestly, it was just the right size for one person plus gear. I can't imagine having three people in this tent. Two would be doable, however.

I used this on a 4 day trip during a tropical storm. This tent was amazing. I am very pleased with this purchase. I bought it for backpacking. It packs down small. I did buy the footprint that was made for the tent separately. Both are well worth the money. Seams are very well made. It didn't leak at all and it did very well in high winds. I felt very safe in the tent. It is extremely easy to set up. the different bags included with the tent make it very easy for setup. The instructions for the tent are sewn into the stuff sack. It does weigh a bit more than other backpacking tents but for the room it has and how it is built it is worth the extra weight in my opinion. It has held out for several trips now and is good for a lot more. The tent has a great design two vestibules and two doors to the tent made it easy to get in and out of the two person tent.

The design of this tent is easy to put up. I am sure it would be nice to have on a night where it wasnt raining. Stargazing bug free would be nice in this tent. I was even compelled with the design where you use a footprint and the rainfly to make a shelter tent. That is the positives that I could come up withThe BadThe company "Bessport" does not google well. So support on this tent might be poor in the future. That being said. It has some interesting features and is "mostly" well made. The design is super intresting. At the time of this review you also arent going to find a footprint for this tent. That does concern me. I will keep checking and remove this section if it becomes in stock. I think companies are having a heck of a time keeping camping gear in stock because of Covid. They used to sell them. Everywhere says out of stock and Amazon says "We dont know when this will be in stock again" So the 3 person footprint says it might come in stock soon. So maybe the 2 person will as well.I will delve into the negative first. I think that is what you want to hear about. Here is the bad stuff I noticed almost immediately.1. The vents do not lie down correctly. Which the tent becomes very hot with only these vents that do not stay propped open. This is an interesting design element like a gable vent on a house. However as you can see in the outdoor picture of the tent. It doesnt open that much. In the winds last night air DID get into the tent however in stagnant winds in the heat of the day it was hot in there. Maybe that is cause to take the rain fly partially off?2. This problem is interesting I have a feeling that these things are being rushed through production and I got one that didnt get much Quality control.. Notice the purple circle. Extra junk material sewn into the tent. You might think this is a fluke. check the other side and that has a similar (but different) piece of junk material sewn into the tent. (Another picture) There also is areas where material is bunched up and not cut evenly. I didnt include pictures because it didnt affect performance of the tent it just aestetically unpleasing. I kept thinking in big dollar tents there is NO way this would make it through inspection.3. I tested this tent in a rain storm. Take a look at the blue circles. The door ties arent seam sealed. Water comes right through 3 of the 4 door ties then leaks on the outside of the inner tent from the rainfly. Now interesting because the inner tent appears to have NO waterproofing. So I think the rain fly is supposed to keep all the water out. It does mostly. I am sure with a little seam sealent on those tie downs and maybe some campdry on the inner tent part this would become a bit more perfect. I think for the cost of this tent that just wasnt done.4. Another picture. The zippered doors are flawed. There is an extreme angle where the door jams up and you have to really pull on it to get past that section. as I continue to use the zippers they are getting easier but I dont think they will ever be smooth to operate. i even unstaked the tent to see if the way I staked the tent made the zippers tight in that area. It made no difference.6. I should have mentioned this first because for me this is the thing that isnt in all of these tents. I got unlucky I believe and got the one with a seam right through the bathtub floor. The seam is well seamed with tape and it waterproofed now but I know eventually that seam is going to leak. I intend on keeping this tent a long time so I dont want a seam in the bathtub floor. I also will be getting the tailored footprint to protect the bottom. I was the UNLUCKY one that got a seam in the bathtub floor. It is well known that that will leak in the future.I have bought a lot of inexpensive camping and backpacking items This is the first one that has let me down.Having just gone through 10 hours of a rain storm the tent held up nicely. The wind is gusting to 25mph as well now and it is holding up well. Now to the good design elements.1. The cross bar across the tent where it goes into the tent is heavily reinforced. Other designs like this leave the end of that post exposed which will rub against the rain fly. This one doesnt have that. it protects it quite well.2. The snaps that attach the tent to the tent poles are great quality.3. the stakes are thicker than normal stakes and feel strong. They are also pretty light weight (I am sure they are aluminum.)4. The guy line system for tightening is quite interesting. It is a triangle design and in practice held the line well.5. The bathtub floor comes up nice and high. I think it will keep it warmer in cooler weather and I think it will hold up well6. While this tent is not ultralightweight it is pretty light.7. it is a 2person plus size. So a little extra room in the tent too.8. If you knew it isnt going to rain at all leaving the rain fly off would be excellent for star gazing and shining the flashlight on racoons traipsing through your camp in the middle of the night.9. If you had to set this tent up quickly you would be pleased. It does set up quite fast.10. water runs off the top quickly and didnt pool in any large areas.Basic summary is I think this could be a good tent for long term if you were willing to seam seal some of the parts that leaked. In general it worked really well. with a few spots that werent done right. There were some sewing mistakes and extra materials. Some of those could be carefully cleaned up with a pair of scissors or a razor blade. Functionally the tent worked good in extended rain AND high winds (25 mph gusts)

I was looking for an economical tent for a family of 6 that I could take backpacking. I bought 2 of these and just loved them. They are very well thought out in the design and ease of putting together, I wish the footprint came with it, but even for an extra $30 it's still far cheaper than anything else of quality. They were not overly roomy with 3 people, and our backpacks, but we didn't feel like sardines either. Honestly I expected it to be more cramped. I definitely recommend this tent!Update- Apr 2021,Took it backpacking at Caprock Canyon with my brother, still a wonderful tent!!! I'll probably go lighter for backpacking by myself, but it's still a wonderfully light tent for a family or 3 people.Update Aug '21Just got back from a 4 day backpacking trip in Colorado. I was planning on taking a smaller, half the weight tent, but it didn't come in on time. I'm impressed every time I set this one up. It's so simple you could set it up in the dark. It is starting to get some frays in the fabric, but I imagine it'll last a while longer. The visibility without the rain fly is amazing. If there's no rain or dew I highly recommend sleeping with the fly off, it's just beautiful!!! For a no name cheap tent, I just couldn't be more impressed. I already bought a $400 ultralight 2p tent to replace this one, but I will continue to come back to this one when I take out my whole family.Update Aug 2022Just got back from taking a group of 7 backpacking near Crested Butte. Yet again these were wonderful tents. I had 5 kids sleeping in 2 of them. They are easy to set up and are still holding together perfectly. We got rained on everyday but they were completely rainproof, except the day it rained on us for 6 hrs. There was condensation build up, but on my $400 tent I had the same issue. Still a great tent!

I bought this tent to take on a backpacking trip where I need things to be small and light. While this tent is not one of those super high tech ultralight ones, it fits the bill at a reasonable price. My wife and I just tried building it on our living room and this is our experience:Out of the bag, there the entire thing is rolled and kept closed with an adjustable band that is provided just for that purpose. Opening the rolled parts, you get the tent, the waterproof roof, a pouch with the stakes, and a pouch with the structural tubes.Building the tent takes about 90 seconds when two people are doing it and is as easy as it gets. All the tubes are connected into a single structure, and they are attached to the tent with plastic hooks. There is no annoying passing of tubes through holes in the tent, which makes things easy.Once built, the tent is a nice size, about the size of a long full bed. My wife is planning to use it with our two little kids, so it's the perfect size for her.We did not build the roof, as we have no way to place the stakes on the living room floor. However, it looked well made and waterproof as expected. We then proceeded to undo the tent, which was even easier than setting it up. I was worried about being able to fit everything back in the box, but it was super easy to do too. I imagine that when taking it off the actual place where it will be used will involve cleaning it and will take a bit longer, but making it small enough to fit was easier than expected.Overall, we are happy with the purchase!
