Thought it was leather but it is a cloth material which makes it susceptible to staining. Otherwise husband loves the chair as it is comfortable and works to help him get up.

It’s a nice chair. A little stiff but I prefer a firm chair. I do wish the remote control would have had the control for reclining and raising not just the heat and massageShipping was very fast

Assembly in 15 minutes alone or 5 with a little assistance which I needed as a disbaled vet. Just a note the seatback lower BRACKETS are inside the sides of the bottom of the seatback as I kept looking at BRACKETS high up on the seatback until I figured they must be inside. Extremely pleased with the chair.
