I haven't run it up to the rated 2000W yet, mostly because I don't have enough battery behind it to supply what it needs to get there. But it's worked fine at 1100W, so it will run a crock pot, coffeemaker or tiny grill (panini maker). It will run any reasonable amount of lighting, and some power tools. It's important to take the instructions seriously. It comes with 2 sets of cables, and both MUST be used. Internally there are two inverters in there, working in parallel, and they both need to be powered. For light loads you can hook both sets of cables to the same battery. For heavy loads you should generally connect each set to its own battery. Useful math: if you want to run a 1200w 120v appliance on this with a 12v battery, you're asking that battery to provide over 100A. That's harder than you want to push a lithium battery. so use 2 batteries. Or a single beefy lead acid battery, but those wear out faster. And lesson learned. If the connection to the battery isn't tight, and I mean screwing down the connections with a tool, the battery terminals will heat up from even the trivial resistance the loose connection causes. It gets hot enough to cause a burn. The clamps this unit comes with are probably ok for a lead acid battery with fat binding posts, but lithium battery often come with smaller screw terminals. Make sure the screw terminal firmly engages the bottom and side of the clamp and screw it down as tight as your hand can manage. Or else! This unit really should come with alternate connectors for those screw terminals...

After owning this 2000 watt inverter for one year, I finally learned how to connect the alligator clamps correctly and the unit is amazing! It's extremely quiet, ran my hair dryer and is a huge added bonus when the power runs out since I have extra car batteries.A car battery is about 6000 watts and a 200 watt room (two lamps, a stereo, a 32 inch TV, a DVD player, a game systems will run about 200 watts an hour giving you 30 hours of power.)I purchased this unit for $129, still a deal at $156.Recommend to place Bestek 2000 watt inverter in an area away from children.Keep the unit off while connecting the alligator clamps. Red clamps (postive) first then black (negative). You really have to squeeze the clamps very hard sliding the rubber down slightly towards the wires; no need to cut the rubber covers. Using gloves helps when squeezing the clamps. Excellent product and will buy again. Thanks for reading.

Really strong inverter, which has a excellent digital display which informed you of how much power you’re electric item is drawing. This is helpful to know just for a reference point, but also let you know how many other things you can plug in before you cause it to overload. I haven’t overloaded it yet, but there is a number of fuses that are easy to replace, and they give you a bunch of spares. Has a very commercial appearance and is light weight enough to be very portable. We are using this for our barbeque team, as our pellet smoker needs to runoff of 12 V battery when we don’t have shore power. Would highly recommend.

Mine just crapped-out. Fuses were not blown, it’s dead Jim ! Worked great for 30 months, 24h a day. Used at a remote site, on a battery/solar system with a generator-powered Iota 55amps battery charger. It ran a modem, router, IP PVR camera system and some ADS-B receivers. Super silent, the fans rarely ran. They started only when I plugged in a 32” lcd tv, although still a low volume sound, variable fan speed. 3 powers bar where used on the 3 outlets. It lacks built-in USB ports but the power bars used had some.Low voltage feature is great as the inverter restarts itself once the battery bank reached back 13.5V. Didn’t have to drive 3hr to toggle a switch. After looking at other inverters reviews, I decided to buy the same unit again. I wish it worked forever but considering the use I had of it, I’m pretty satisfied. It should also be noted that it ran at -20c for 3 winters at my mostly unmanned site.

I was going to review this inverter earlier, but I wanted to put it through its paces first. This thing is awesome. Best bang for the buck. I am going to use it in my travel trailer, hooked up to a deep cycle battery charged by 2 100 watt solar panels. With this, I won't have to run the generator as much and save gas.The inverter even came with spare fuses, an added bonus. I have an old 600 watt inverter I purchased from CT, but that one just doesn't have the power to run small appliances like a microwave oven.Very happy with my purchase.
