Learned something , these are a 'fender' or PROTECTION ' AT THE SIDES AROUND THE TOP AND BODY SEAM. sideIf SOMETHING HARD HITS the side /top seams THEN THIS STRIPS OFFERING BODY GUITAR protection.GLue with guitar glue or wood will peel off if changing the strip in the futue, Seen this specific at Youtube where somebody was 'fixing a rough guitar'.My comprehending was1 A FENDER AND2 A HIDE THE SEAM AND3 LOOKS DECORATIVE.

Used the acetone method to secure binding to body and it worked really well, sands and scrapes easily. Will buy again.
