I love this coffee maker! After I got a look inside my old electric coffee pot I threw it away and wanted a solution. This is a simple design and there is no room for any ick to build up anywhere. I use a teapot to boil my water quickly then you pour it over your grounds. Clean up is quick and easy. It's fast and the coffee tastes so much better. It's awesome, I love it.

I bought this for the filter and the filter is the BEST. I am sort of a pioneer in pour over coffee who tried various makeshift systems of my own before I knew pour over was “a thing.” I thought I was inventing it out of my love for simplicity. Recently, while seeking the best stainless steel filter, I discovered this BODUM set for less than the price of a great filter and having the BEST FILTER on the market. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY ANYONE CRITICIZES THIS FILTER. This is the best coffee system on the market for pour over coffee: The price is literally one of the very lowest; it is designed in Switzerland and made in Portugal, not China; ❤️THE FILTER is double walled micro drilled stainless steel with seams so smooth they do not exist and no steel screen wire mesh to come loose over time. The filter cleaners easily by just dumping out the grounds and rinsing. Spray or run water from the outside inward first to push any residue back the way it came from. If a coffee level line develops, gently wash with a little dish soap and fingers. There is no need to rub, brush, scrub, etc. A paper towel on a small dishwashing brush will get the ring that can develop in the borosilicate glass carafe if it is not rinsed well enough. In my opinion, soap is not often needed on this product if maintained well and nothing is added to the coffee that might cause bacteria growth. Fine coffee grounds dust can get through this filter. So what?! That just means the filter is allowing enough of the coffee’s essential oils through. They settle in the bottom of the carafe and do not affect the coffee poured out into your cup or cups unless some one tries to drink the last (extra) bit. Don’t rinse grounds from the filter down the drain. Catch them in a pan.

I like the glass pot as I am reducing my use of plastics. It is a good size ... holds 34oz. The time it takes to brew a pot of coffee is about the same as a small drip coffee maker. There are two things that could be improved. 1) the black heat guard is not fully silicone. It's actually a hard plastic collar secured with a strip of black silicone. Too bad it's plastic and it gets hot. Wish I had gotten the cork version instead. 2) the mesh metal filter does not have a stand once your done brewing and remove it from the pot. I set it on top of an extra coffee cup to cool before dumping the used grounds.

I've tried all kinds of coffee making methods attempting to find the most convenient method that produces reliably good coffee and I think pour over is the best of the bunch. It combines the flavor of French press with the easy cleaning of a percolator. I'm not a fan of drip due to the length of the process, though the flavor is good with the right maker. Percolators taste great, but only if you watch it like a hawk. A French press is easy and tasty, but messy. An Italian/Moka pot over extracts easily and a bit of pain to setup and clean. I don't want a large espresso contraption and I haven't tried a siphon. These might be desirable for people who enjoy the coffee ritual and want a coffee bong for fun. I just want good coffee without a lot time or hassle involved and I think pour over is the way to go.I haved other pour over pots, but if you're new to pour over this one is probably your best bet for trying it out. The design and materials seem good for the price.

It’s good for how cheap it is! I wish it had a handle.
