Has held up well for the last few months. I replaced my failing stock alternator with this unit. Had to relock it (only takes a minute) and modify the stock wiring harness. Otherwise, it bolts on perfectly to my 351W. I'll update if I have any issues. Otherwise, a great purchase.

Direct bolt in for 3g upgrade, no trimming needed for 7.5 (460) bracket or clocking required. Maintains great voltage. Only needed a fused power cable, and two pigtails for the upgrade.

1st one didn't work so I returned it for another, and this alternators bearings went out and started screeching like a scalded dog. Buyer beware

Works as advertised. Using this on my '87 Mercury Colony Park with a Painless Performance 3G wiring conversion kit. I had to do a pulley swap and get a longer bolt so it would mount on the wagon's posts. Otherwise, perfect.

The alternator looks great and was identical in size to the stock unit (I have a 1995 Mustang Cobra). The pulley is bigger than stock, meaning it will turn LESS than the stock alternator (ergo lower parasitic losses). Yippee! Free underdrive pulley! My stock alternator has soldiered along for 18 years, and my battery was starting to die frequently. Since putting on the alternator the car roars instantly to life every morning. I guess it's doing a good job of keeping the battery "topped off".Notes to DIY'ers:1. since the pulley is larger than stock the serpentine will be a little tricky to get back on. I took it off the middle "wheel", threaded it onto the alternator, and while compressing the tensioner, put it back on the middle "wheel". It took about 30 seconds.2. Detaching the connector from the back of the stock unit must involve some trick. One has to pull a tab up over a detent, but there is no room to pull the tab up. I bent a piece of metal to get under the tab and grasp it. Then I realized that it better work because there was no other way to get that metal out if the connector didn't come out. It worked. Yay.3. The stock alternator is snugly installed. After removing the two mounting bolts, the dang thing still sat there securely installed. I strongarmed the stock one out, and had to assertively push the Bosch into place.
