This deep cut band saw is incredibly powerful and well made. The batteries are high capacity and you get quite a bit of use out of the saw before needing to charge them. The saw feels very high quality and cuts through just about anything with ease. It's a little on the heavy side, but sometimes I find that I can use that to my advantage when cutting through stronger materials. It's a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. I would recommend it!

A few years ago, I inherited a traditional bandsaw that my grandfather owned. It weighs a few hundred pounds and stands around 6 feet tall next to my basement work bench. For most hobbyist projects that require cutting aluminum, PVC, acrylic etc, I generally use my Ryobi cutoff tool or a Dremel in the case of smaller applications. In my first test cut with the Bosch, I used a 70mm OD aluminum pipe at a thickness of 2mm. This was my first use of any cordless bandsaw.I cannot overstate how smooth and predictably the saw made its way through the pipe. There were no sparks, no jumping blade, almost noiseless. It felt as if I were simply lowering a hot knife through a warm stick of butter. After setting the speed via thumb dial, the variable speed trigger pull is impossibly smooth and responsive.I am by no means a professional, and have no business advising professionals with years of experience, but I was impressed beyond my wildest expectations at the ease of use with this beauty.Beyond the cutting experience, the overall build quality of the saw and its pair of 6.0AH batteries is a level above any tool I currently own, including Ryobi, Milwaukee and my beloved Makita. The batteries came with dielectric grease applied to the terminals, which I have never seen on any power tool purchased or used to date. The incredibly rugged battery construction makes others look almost like kids' toys by comparison.A very sincere 5 stars for an incredible, professional grade tool that yields exceptional cut results, even for an amateur like me.

I ordered the Bosch deep cut band saw kit to install new sliding closet doors in the bedrooms throughout my house. It worked amazingly well for cutting the upper and lower metal door tracks. The kit comes with everything you need; two batteries, a charger, a good quality storage bag, and the Bosch band saw. Set up and use was intuitive, but the instructions are well written and easy to follow. There's a few features with this bandsaw that really stood out to me. First, it is really easy to control allowing for precise cuts. I've installed closet door tracks in the past with some of the other tools I have on hand, and they either didn't provide a clean cut or they ripped through the track and caused damage. That wasn't the case with this bandsaw. It is easy to hold, and the end result was a clean and controlled cut without any fuss.I also really like the fact that the blade can be easily replaced without any tools required, and it has a 5 inch cutting capacity. This allows for so many different uses and types of material. I ordered this band saw for a specific purpose, but I will definitely get a lot of use with other projects that I work on around my house and at my rental property. The bandsaw has some other useful features that are worth mentioning. The LED light was helpful allowing me to clearly see my cut lines. The variable speed trigger and dial was great, especially if you need to maintain good control of the band saw to get more precise cuts. The battery run time is also a nice benefit to this tool. The job I used it for wasn't a huge use of battery power. However, it maintained an optimal level of performance throughout the entire project and I didn't need to use the second battery.I wouldn't give it a second thought if you are considering purchasing the Bosch band saw kit. It works great and is exactly as described. Highly recommend!

This saw cuts through everything I've thrown at it. If only the batteries were more affordable...Compared to the corded version of this saw, note that this DOES have an automatic spot-light. You don't need to manually set the light on/off (unlike corded). It will stay on for 5+ seconds after the trigger is released. It's pretty useful too. This saw is quite heavy... 30+ pounds? In a way, it's a good thing as you're only meant to use gravity when making cuts--additional pressure is not meant to be applied. I've sliced through 1" solid-steel rods almost like they were butter, 10 seconds or less. Minimal noise, through hearing and eye protection are both still recommended. Very little dust/cleanup generated. The guide is actually really useful, and proper setting is absolutely crucial--whatever you're cutting will be resting against it, otherwise it will "kick" when you start a cut.Swapping blades isn't too bad, but you do need a little bit of hand strength to stretch around the rollers. I haven't needed to adjust the guides with the provided wrench yet, but for the life of me I cannot figure out why they didn't add a recess to stick the steel socket/adapter... they made one for the allen key, but not the big one. For now I'll be keeping it in the bag, but I still think it's silly that they included it without a way to secure it. Fortunately it's a standard size socket if you lose that.Back to the subject of batteries, bosch really made these things look nondescript... at first glance I would assume they're just generics. They may be the most ugly little branded-batteries I've ever seen. The charger gives me about the same impression... and is really light and feels a bit fragile. The batteries don't provide a tactile "click" when in place (unlike when attached to a tool). It all works fine though.Note that the battery-kit option is literally just a larger box with the regular bare-tool box placed inside (along with the batteries and charger).
