I use this on my oxygen hose to keep our cats from chewing on the hose. It's a little tricky to get the hose in it, but it works well.

I used this to combine two 8awg wires that go to my portable camping solar panel. I slid some heat shrink on before I fed the braided mesh so I could secure it on both ends. Looks great! the 1/2" size handles 2x8AWG with no problem. I did notice that even with my heat gun on low (when doing the heat shrink) that some of the braided mesh was trying to singe and melt.. Fine for my application, but I wouldn't trust in a car environment.

I have a beautiful cat who lives to play! Unfortunately, dogs can be pretty messy and tear up your things, but cats can destroy a great many things, knock everything off of shelves and tables, and they love, Love, LOVE chewing through cables and wires! The picture I included is just one example of a hundred! lolI have had to use an oxygen machine for some time now, and I have to use those little tubes that go into your nose. The hose is usually made from a soft plastic, or rubber, to be flexible. And my cat LOVES the hoses! She’ll have her bouts of obnoxiousness, and the tubing is always on top of everything. She grabs it like it was prey, holds it with her claws, scrapes at it with her hind leg claws, and bites the life right out of it! When I go to put my O² tubes on at bedtime, I get very little, if any, air coming out. I check the tubing, and it’s covered with little puncture wounds, cut halfway through in places, and each hole/tear has plenty of air coming out!I tried using electrical tape to cover the areas, and they develop many more holes! Once my entire tube is covered in tape, it’s time to use another one. I have boxes literally filled with perforated tubingI thought of using shrink tubing, but the tube is usually too big having to pass over the larger ends. I kept searching…I found this product, and it looked like the answer to the meaning of life! She would still try and chew through it, but it would be harder for her to pierce the tubing. So, I bought some. The stuff works GREAT, and I no longer have holy tubes! They’re a tad more agnostic, and under stress can fall apart at the seams. And that’s the reason I didn’t give it 5 stars. When you cut these, it’s exactly like cutting a nylon rope. The ends fray, and it becomes a mess of plastic strings that can be very annoying if you wind up laying on them. I imagine you could try and burn the ends like you do with nylon, but you risk burning your tubing as well.Otherwise, these are amazing at protecting your tubing!! But WAIT! THERE’S MORE!! You can cut short pieces, and they make great finger-cuffs! 👉🏼👈🏼 😂
