I don't have much experience with label makers, but this one struck a good balance between cost and functionality. So far it does everything I need it to do and isn't complicated to use.

Good layout and functionality, type and print basically. There is a decent array of customizations: border, font, font size, margins, but not that much for anyone planning something fancy. One major negative is that it wastes a lot of extra tape from the beginning of any label due to how it is loaded. Or maybe by design? Either way, it could be improved to produce less waste!

That's a good device: easy to use with a lot of founts and setings. The labels are evry easy to read and they hold well without being difficult to remove and without leaving glue when removed. I gave it 4 stars only because it wastes a lot of tape leaving blanc spaces and there is no real way to set it not to do that. You can choose to leave a larger space at the end or a smaller space at the begining and the end. More then 50% of the tape is wasted on small labels. If you do a lot of labels, especially small ones, this may become an issue. This is an otherwise good product.

this label maker is awesome! I had originally bought the Dymo 160 and that was a piece of crap! Nothing but problems from the start. I returned that and bought this one. The Brother P-touch D210 has tons of options and will print on 2 lines with the 12mm tape. it prints clear and is quite user friendly. I did watch a couple of YouTube videos to learn the functions... I personally learn better by seeing than reading a manual.I purchased compatible tapes that work great!! Included n my pictures are examples of the clear labels I used in my kitchen and on our TV remotes so they don't get mixed up if they are moved from rom to room.If you are hesitating...don't. you will love it!🙂

So, this was on sale for $20 and I have always wanted to label a bunch of stuff while I was bored. So, I bought it.It doesn't come with batteries, unfortunately and takes like 6 of them. The little triple A's. I'm not sure if it eats batteries or not, because the tape ran out first. There is minimal tape included so you'll want to use it judiciously, although it's just $5 a cartridge online. The tape seems to be laminated with the black bits made from some plastic that gets heated off onto the sticky thing and then covered by clear plastic (inside the machine). It's not the thermal paper stuff that has bisphenols (apparently causes cancer) I think, so that's a plus.Typing on the buttons wasn't great, since they're just stiffer tactile rubber remote buttons, and the device is quite large. With that said, it's not that hard to get used to. There's a little menu for all the symbols and such. I wish this had a USB port so I didn't have to use the keyboard, but that's not too important.I think the biggest frustration with this machine is that it leaves these margins on one end of each label unless you print a bunch together. You have to cut the end off with scissors manually each label and it gets old if you want to make tons, but hey, small price to pay for nice labels. It does give you two little dots so you know where to cut.Overall though, the machine feels really quite well built. There's nothing about it I hate, and its minor quirks are easily overlooked. For $20, I'm happy with what it is. If you're on the fence on whether to buy this, I'd say go for it. I like the labels it makes and it's quite a neat little toy.
