For years, I've used these paper flowers to add on top of gifts instead of a bow. I especially like to do this for bridal showers since some brides create a bouquet out of all of the ribbons and bows from the shower to use during the rehearsal the night before the wedding. Whenever I add these on a gift, people always comment on them. I like that this set included multiple shades of purple, and different sizes so that I can add more than one to the top of a gift. Having them individually wrapped does create a bit more waste than necessary, though. They are very simple to put together. My one critique is that they are secured in the middle by a piece of ribbon. When I bought this type of pom pom paper flower before, they had a twist tie in the middle, which makes it really easy to secure to a ribbon (or banner or bag handle... depending on what you are using them for). I will probably end up using a twist tie instead of the ribbon that these have on them.

I learned to make yarn pom-poms when I was a child, so I could figure out how these work, but an instructional card should be included. I later found instructions when you go to the item listing online, just scroll down. My advice is to tie the string around the middle so you have a loop to hang it. Don't pull open the "petals" all the way - take each individual sheet and gently open about an inch (you can pull it out more if needed. I made the mistake of pulling out or fluffing the tissue paper deep into the seam to where the string is tied and it doesn't look as full. These look fine once you open them carefully. The make a nice presentation as a decoration. The lightest shade is a very pale pastel lavender.
