Brighter and more useful than many battery lights. This is a good rechargeable spotlight to keep on hand during power outages especially. Run time is lengthy.

I lined up this Buysight unit with a EverStart Maxx (bought at Walmart) and a GamePro (bought on a recent trip to South Africa).FirstlySIZE. The Buysight is substantially smaller overall, both the body and the reflector. In comparison, it looks like a toy. Is this a problem? Read on. I tested the 3 units on my 7-acre plot which is lined by forests so gives a good test ground.INTENSITY OF LIGHT (Brightmess). The Everstart was clearly the worst by far. The GamePro was not bad but the Buysight was easily the best.LIGHT PATTERN. My gripe with every led light I have come across is that the give a very bright spot, or dot of light and lack a useful spread of light. Whilst they shine far, you only get a dot of light which has limitations. Here the Everstart and the GamePro had an identical size dot of light. The Buysight has a 50% bigger dot of light and this is a major plus factor. In addition the edge of the light dot is crisp and sharp where the others were somewhat furry.PRICE. I paid a bit more for the BUYSIGHT but not significantly more.CONCLUSION: Dynamite comes in small packages! Despite the smaller size, this BUYSIGHT light easily outperforms this competition.ADDITIONAL FEATURES which I appreciate are:1. A trigger lock preventing accidental switching on. Of questionable usefulness??2. 3 light intensity modes.3. Compact size. Since it delivers the goods, smaller is better. Will fit easily in a car glovebox without taking up too much space. For size, think Coke can with a handle!4. Uses a type C charger plug, not those awful, stupid, mini USB plugs which only go in 1 way up!5. Has a screw off rear cap which protects the charging port.6. Can charge a phone in an emergency when used as a power bank. Nice feature to have in your flash light!7. Has an accessory red lens to use to warn of an emergency or call for help.8. Has a sensible charging light. Shines red when charging, goes green when fully charged. The others don't have this (either always red or always green so you don't know whether they are fully charged)9. General build quality feels superior to the other 2 units tested.10. Doesn't have a flashing mode which could be useful in an emergency.CONCLUSION. The EVERSTART from Walmart is junk. The GamePro is great until it meets this unit. The BUYSIGHT is easily the best of the 3 and is an excellent unit (and is NOT A TOY!) Don't be put off by the size.I did not test battery life so no comment.UPDATED on 10/7/24I was wrong. It does have a flasher function. Just depress the switch for a few seconds and it goes into flasher mode.

Arrived in a good quality box with good packaging and accessories individually wrapped up. You get instruction booklet, wrist strap, red lens filter, charging cable and the lamp. Mine came partially charged but took another 2 hrs to fully charge. Nice simple red,/green led to show charging state. Ok so on removing the lamp from it's packaging I was disappointed at it's size approx 6" x 6" and thought ohh that's not going to be very powerful. The finish is very nice with that soft touch rubber all over, the lock out switch is also good as is the screw on rear cover. I took my son out for a winter field walk at 7pm and braced myself to switch it on....WOW! Beautiful laser like beam cut through the darkness at a very decent range, easily 250m + with a nice spread of useable light outside of the main beam. Impressive as hell and exceptional value for money. Ordering a second one to keep in my car. Type C recharging is also appreciated as is the ability to use the Type A connection as a power bank.
