I removed several adapters that I used to create a NULL connector from my RS-232 cable. Plugged it in and the software recognized a null connection immediately. What more could I ask of an adapter? Nothing, says I. Very happy with the results.

This cable works great for extending a 9 pin serial cable. Cable includes two removable nuts on the F side of the cable which I needed to move to the M side to secure to existing cable. Photo doesn't show that the nuts are included, but they are.

I use this to communicate with my Telescope. Functions perfectly. Both ends feel secure and insert "perfectly" into the respective connectors.I did however, mis-read the product description. This is an EXTENSION CABLE, which means on the end with the female connection it has nuts to receive the attachment screw of another Serial Cable. A pair of pliers removes the nuts, though, revealing the screws I need to attach to the com port on my computer. Nice to know that if I ever need an extension all I need do is reattach the nuts.

We are using this Cables To Go DB9 M/F 50-ft cable to connect our Yamaha RX-A3010BL 11.2-Channel Network AV Receiver to our PC. It works very well, with no difficulties so far or expected. The product is well made, and the price is also very very reasonable. Recommended!
