My husband loves to play with fire. He likes to burn stuff. Melt stuff lighted on fire if it's fire he wants to play with it. So he has had lots of torches of pretty much. Any variety and he says that this one is pretty good. It is just as good as one's available in the store that are a lot more money. It is made with mostly all metal parts. No plastic parts to melt which was the downfall of many other torch heads.

This works like a propane torch should. It has a swirl flame, not a pencil type flame. It will start on the first click if you give it half a second to get the gas to the spark. If you click too quick it will take two clicks. The button/trigger to turn it on has a safety position to keep it from accidentally being pushed, and you can also turn it fully off with the flame adjust knob.It will turn off when you release the trigger, but it does have a lock on button that will hold it in the on position until you bump the trigger to release the hold on button. The body of the torch is metal, probably a zinc alloy, and it is quite heavy for it's size.It feels solid in your hand. The outer surface of the body of the torch has a sand blasted texture, it gives it a nice grip and feels good to hold onto. The threads for the propane bottle are well made, there are no burrs or rough spots on the threads. There is a small amount of the outer coating that made it to the threads, but that does not affect attaching it to the bottle/tank.The flame adjust knob is very sensitive, you have only about 1/8 turn between not enough gas to keep it lit and full power. Most of the time this isn't an issue, it only causes problems when you want to turn down the flame a bit.I reaches full power about 1/5 turn from the complete off position but can actually be turned out about 1 and 3/4 turns.
