Just had my first hot shower in a couple of days! Unit came with a few accessories that helped me get going. Low flow shower head was welcome. A number of things were not as well detailed as they could have been. On my unit, as you press the "up temperature" icon it doesn't display the temperature you are going to get. Work around was just hit the button 7 times if you wanted water to be 7 degrees hotter. Eventually the temperature display would come back and and show the temperature rising or lowering to the new set point.I haven't really sent it through its paces yet. You set the flow control low enough that it can keep up to the set temperature. I accidentally set it to 114 degrees which it kept up with but was to hot to shower in. Flow at ~103 degrees was satisfactory, about the same as the flow in a sink. It could probably increase the flow higher at a higher temperature.I'm pleased with the performance and the price. I will probably attach the system to the house hot water feed so both showers, kitchen sink, and dishwasher are all hooked in. This was the best price for a 220-240V system and it looks like it was the right choice for my needs. It is replacing a 40 gal electric so the wiring was already set up for 30 amps. I just had to switch the wires over to the tankless heater.Do this when the hardware stores are open. The fittings on it were 1/2" and the standard water heater takes 3/4" so you need adapters. I still have to make another trip to the hardware store to plumb it into my house hot water feed.

The biggest challenge was the inlet and outlet water ports, which are made of plastic unlike other heaters I've installed in the past. On this unit, the hot water port had poorly formed threads from the factory, making it very difficult to screw on the hoses. I had to basically force it on and 'tap' the threads myself. This made me very nervous that it would leak. Overall it just felt flimsy, like if somebody accidentally bumps into it the plastic might crack and leak. However, the unit technically does work, and has not leaked in the month or so that I've had it so that's good.

Unless you already have 240V where you want to install this. Fortunately I was replacing an existing traditional water heater so had a run. I installed this in my cottage which is older and only open seasonally. Not having a huge amount of water heated all the time is the main benefit I was hoping for.Installation was simple and once the water was flowing I turned on the breaker and was delighted to find it works exactly as expected. Before installing this water heater I researched it carefully. There was a YouTube video that included a teardown and review of the safety features. I was happy to see ammeters and other power overrun safety features. I am confident it will run for years to come with minimal issues. For $100 it is a great deal. It is only 5.5kW, so would fit best for smaller setups like cabins and small houses. I am very happy with it.
