This does work. This isn't an instant product. Its not going to heat the water to hot tub temperature in an hour. I have a pop up bathtub I use outside. It can take most of the day to heat up the water. This isn't on-demand hot water heat. It takes time - don't expect miracles. I have used this throughout last summer and fall, and this summer with no problems at all. I highly recommend it if you're rational enough to realize that its not a 2 hour heat with this thing and that it can take all day to heat something up to hot tub temperature.

Not sure why the rating features has a temperature control rating on it because it doesn't have a temperature control knob..Anyways, it worked as intended but not sure why they didn't just make it fully submersible. 1500W can handle a lot of volume but there are way cheaper ones that are fully submergible.

Using for warming up hot water for bath in NY winter time. It works well but you need timer to keep good temperature. This is powerful.

I was looking for a heater for my kids pool since everything is closed this summer and decided to go with this submersable 1500 Watt one. **Disclaimer** This is obviously not ment for this so don't be an idiot and melt a hole in the bottom of your pool or hurt your children. Never have it in the pool when your kids are around.I fastened it to the bottom of a clay saucer drilled a hole and ran threaded rod through it to act as an anchor. This made it very sturdy. I filled the pool to the line about 300 gallons and plugged it in the thermometer had a reading of 68 degrees. after it was plugged in for 2 hours it rose up to 73 degrees. This was all on a cloudy day with an air temperature of 70 degrees. As for power comsumption I pay .12cents per kWh so if I ran this in the morning for 5 hours it would only cost me 90 cents and I would get about a 10 degree heat rise in the temperature of the pool.Overall i'm super happy with the initial results and look forward to using it.
