The tea maker works well and makes delicious tea; however, as many others have noted the glass pitcher breaks easily regardless of how carefully you care for it. When you reach out to the company they explain that the pitcher is not covered by the warranty and instruct you to purchase a replacement for $25. That is not an acceptable solution to a problem that is happening repeatedly to this product. I strongly recommend that anyone considering this product look for an alternative.

Overall it’s a good iced-tea maker, it’s performed well. I make a fresh pitcher-full at least 5 times a week during the spring/summer, on the strongest brew setting. Five teabags each time, it seems to be the optimal strength. I drink tea (iced and hot) all day, especially when I work from home, and this maker has kept me going with no problems. It’s also been very easy to keep clean, inside and out; I’ve had no issues with staining, like other reviews mention. There are a couple of things that keep me from giving this 5 stars. They’re not dealbreakers for me, but they could be better:- While the brewing time is quick, the power shuts off a bit prematurely. The unit keeps expelling water after the power cuts. I’ve found I need to leave the pitcher in place for several minutes for draining to complete, and to avoid dripping onto the countertop.- I don’t appreciate that it won’t work with other pitchers. The lid is designed to press up against the spout, the liquid won’t dispense without it. So not very versatile.- Speaking of the lid, it can be tricky to get a tight seal around it. I’ve had enough leaking while pouring that I now just remove the lid after brewing’s over and keep the pitcher open.- The pitcher is nice, but definitely feels fragile. I’ve been very careful with it, and so far, so good. I wouldn’t dump ice into it, I carefully place cubes into it.Despite the cons, like I said, it’s a solid iced tea brewer, and a worthwhile purchase for me.

I like that it has a glass pitcher, rather than plastic, but it's more fragile too. Brews quickly, and the basket drains well. The pitcher cleans easily since it's glass, but expect the tea basket to stain - it's tea after all.Better than the other brand in that the pitcher locks into place rather than the Mr Coffee design where you push it under the lip to activate the pouring valve. I've made a big mess using that one when the pitcher didn't quite seat and tea ran out everywhere!

I wanted to try loose tea and get away from t-bags and the flavor of paper. After looking at a number of machines I decided upon the Capresso 623 coming with a glass pitcher. I felt that plastic might be more durable, but that glass for the pitcher might be better for flavor... and that was the main goal. I wanted to make tea with great taste and aroma. My first effort at loose tea brewing with the Capresso was a resounding success; however I must say the pitcher looks to be quite fragile and thin walled. This machine makes a lot of tea and very quickly. It is easy to use but will take some trial and error to get it perfect. The tea mixture possibilities are unlimited. I went with Lipton black with orange pekoa flavor. The controls are simple, the instruction booklet is a bit strange. But yeah, we're happy so far.
