I didn't realize it but transporting your bike on your car can wake up the shifter. This could drain the battery. Sram recommends removing the battery when transporting. Why am I talking about this? Because more than once I have found the battery on my bikes with a lot less of a charge than I expected. I always have a spare but I once grabbed a spare that wasn't charged.WIth this charger I can take it with me and charge batteries while riding. My car doesn't have a USB port or cigarette lighter that's powered when the key is off. So I can't really charge a battery while riding my bike. Even if I could I don't like to leave things plugged in. I've never had an issue with someone breaking into my car but I always make sure there's nothing that can be seen.This charger uses a standard 18500 (slightly smaller in size to the more common 18650) battery. Plug the charger in, pop in a battery, and the charger will charge it up. Once charged there's a button you can press to tell the charger to either use the USB supplied power or from the 18500 battery.There's simple lights to let you know what's happening. Each charging port has a green (fully charged) orange (charging) and red (error) lights. There's also a set of blue lights to let you know when there's power on the USB cord and when switched over to the 18500 battery it's charge.

Exactly what I hoped for. A double SRAM AXS battery charger with independent charge status indicator lights and a USB-C connector. Lights illuminate amber until battery is fully charged and then they turn green to indicate that charging is complete.I tested with two batteries and it quickly topped them up.No surprises here. It is a battery charger. I'm happy to consolidate the chargers on my garage bench.
