3x Awesome camping lights. Legit USA brand.Plenty illumination for camp site.Kids have been using these in the off-season and they've survived multiple 'drops' without issue.

Although there are many lanterns available on Amazon that are similar in appearance to this Cascade Mountain Tech pop-up lantern, this is the lantern you should buy. Its superior quality justifies the higher price. It puts out 180 lumens, which will light up a room during a power outage. It has a polymer diffuser surrounding the surface mounted diodes (SMD), so it produces a soft light that allow you to look at the lantern without being blinded. It's small size, 5" collapsed and 7" extended, means that its inconspicuous when not needed. Although the plastic housing seems fairly durable, I don't think it's strong enough to withstand being dropped. If you're looking for a compact lantern for your kids, then the Coast EAL13, which is virtually indestructible, would probably be a better option.

I purchased several of these for backup lighting during power outages. They work well with minimal battery drain.

My wife bought these for me several years ago and brought them home to me. She knows I love to backpack and car camp several times a year and she’s likes to surprise me with novelty items at times. I appreciate her willingness to please me with items she thinks I will use or enjoy and her gifts are hit or miss at times. I brought these along on my annual family/friend week long camping trip to the mountains of north Georgia one year not expecting much and was quite surprised. We usually have between 15-30 campers throughout the week encompassing a relatively large area with tents, tarps, and a outdoor kitchen set up under a 20x30 foot tarp. We have used propane and gas lanterns in the past (30 plus years) and they work fine but are noisy and temperamental. I se these up under the kitchen tarp and along the paths between the campsites and they worked perfectly. I particularly like the fact they have a red setting and low and high lighting setting which allows for lighting at night but not overpowering. Everyone was quite impressed with these little jewels. I have ordered more as they are perfect for emergencies during power outages and for camping. The battery life is outstanding. I highly recommend these little lanterns because they are inexpensive and work wonderfully.
