Pretty easy to loosen and wear, but I need a partner to tie me in. Looks good with a lot of different pieces. No defects or loose threads. Very fun for a themed night out.

For those who maybe order this just because it looks cool, please understand that this is a corset designed for men, and as such, it's designed to fit differently than your standard vest. This can actually help streamline your figure, and smooth everything out.My husband wears a 38 waist in pants, and he carries any extra weight around his waist, and sometimes he's a bit self conscious of that.As I'm a very experienced corset wearer, I ordered this for him based upon the size chart, which, frankly, could stand to be extended a bit.The XXL does fit him, but putting this on is different than a regular vest. You need to loosen the back laces so the 2 middle loops are flush to the back panels. Once the back has been extended as far as it can go, as evenly as possible, then you put it on and begin closing the front, known as the busk.Once the front is closed, you can wear it as is if you want a looser fit under a jacket, or you can adjust the fit by tightening the laces. I generally go from top to middle, and then from bottom to middle, which will allow you to fit and tighten/fine tune any areas you want.I did notice that the shoulders on this are a bit high, and my husband has a long torso. I'll have to refine how we lace it to make sure it fits properly. It did do a very good job of bringing everything in, and giving him a more svelte appearance. The laces that this comes with will need to be replaced with more utilitarian corset lacing as silky type laces don't do well with corsets that are meant to actually function. My husband said it felt snug, like being hugged, but not uncomfortable, and I had him take several deep breaths while lacing and once laced in to see where any adjustments needed to happen. He was able to sit comfortably, go up and down the stairs, and move around well. He will, of course, have to get used to the feel of it as it's very different from a regular waistcoat, but as he's enjoying the fit, I don't see any issues with him finding it intolerable over time. The boning does not appear to be heavy spiral steel bones, but the corset is constructed well enough that it will still give a slimming effect, although I don't anticipate it being a corset that's going to last for many years as a custom one would. The front busk would benefit from being replaced with a heavier weight one, especially given the overall structure of the vest with the amount of lacing that's pulling against it. A heavier busk will provide a better counter point to that resistance, and it would help the corset to last longer. We're very happy with it, so much so that we did order another for funsies, but should he start wearing corsets more regularly, we'll end up having him fitted for a proper custom made corset down the line.

What a fancy corset waistcoat. The lacings on the back have a lot of extra length so if you expand a bit (possibly from eating one too many turkey legs and pints of ale) you have room to let out.THe cream fabric has a slight sheen to it, not unlike a fancy fbric used in a form dance. Lot's of lovely swirls and flourishes, enough to really make this waistcoat pop. It looks like something you would find Jaskier wearing as he dazzles audiences with his songs. There is no little pocket for storing a pocket watch, but then again, there were no watches in medieval times. There are little metal latches on the front. To get this on, my son made sure all of the latches were secured and then asked me to tighten the laces at the back. This isn't just for medieval times wear, it would look fantastic at the opera or a wedding or any number of fancy dress events.
