Ordered this item as a Christmas present and it was delivered without the nickel spikes. Got a replacement that ALSO did not have the metal spikes. The pitching plate itself is fairly heave-duty, but not useful to us without the spikes.

Rubber came in a bag that wasn’t sealed. Wouldn’t be a problem except the spikes were not included as pictured and described. So I assume they fell out when packaged. Strongly doubt the spikes fell out during transit because the box was completed sealed without holes and without gaps at the seams or folds. I’ll say it’s probably caused by the plastic around the rubber not being sealed making it easy for anything loose like spikes to fall out when handled.Otherwise the rubber is perfect for minor league softball pitching. Just doesn’t stay put without the spikes obviously.

The spikes need to be removed when putting in a sports bag or else they can rip through the top side of the rubber

I was looking for a removable pitcher's mound to place in front of the Major league mound. This mound came next day, is very thick and durable. It is not one of those "throw away" mounds. It will definitely last a season or more. The spikes are thick and screw into the mound. Unlike the cheaper ones, you can bang down the mound with a rubber mallet. It is thick enough that the spikes won't pop through. Recommended.

it does what it says it does. I have it installed in a portable pitching mound I built. holding up to the weather and the 3 spikes were perfect for what I needed.
