If you get it on a good flat surface this thing locks on. Will move my 72" L desk before the seal fails.

Parts are sloppy together. Claws shaft not tight.

I was impressed by the suction power base. The swivel design with its tightening method I found very handy.I was not so impressed with the packaging. I received mine with a torn box.The one day shipping cost more than the product.

I am pleasantly surprised with this vise. The construction is heavier than I thought and the vise performs reasonably (slides without too much slop and clamps well) for the price. I bought this for holding circuit boards while soldering but it will be put to use for heavier jobs I am sure. The swivel head has lots of flexibility and also locks firmly. I am also impressed with the suction grip. It sticks quite firmly to my laminate-top work bench and any other flat, smooth surface I have tried it on (will not work on plywood of course). I recommend this for any light to moderate jobs (light sawing or with dremel-type tools) and the rubber protective pads can be removed if needed.
