I had a similar garlic mincer which lasted 10 - 12 years. When it broke, I looked for a replacement. The original was no longer available so tried this one. It is sturdy, does a great job and easy to clean. The easiest way to mince garlic is with this chopper.

POSITIVES: Super simple to use, it chops quickly and thoroughly, and it's fairly easy to clean (although I recommend at least rinsing the tool immediately after use).NEGATIVES: While easy to clean, it is not easy to get the garlic, once minced, out of the chopper chamber; and, in my case, at least, while it is constructed so that the cover can be detached from the main body of the chopper, I find it somewhat difficult to reattach it.BOTTOM LINE: This is a handy gadget that does the job as well as - if not better than - other garlic choppers I've tried,, but I've learned to add an additional clove beyond what a recipe calls for, to account for the garlic that can't readily be removed from the chamber.
