I desperately wanted to like these. Did a ton of research and comparisons. I used a 3/8" bit on my lathe to drill out a hole in some steel a couple of inches deep using plenty of Tap Magic and watching the speed. The first inch I was so happy to see it going perfect, then it was like I just hit a wall and it simply refused to cut anymore. So I tried the next size smaller, again lots of oil good slow speed and it cut a quarter inch at best then just stopped cutting anymore. My heart dropped, after spending over a hundred dollars and not even being able to complete one hole I'm at a loss. I should have returned them. Maybe I just got a bad batch, who knows. Feel bad for leaving a negative review but I can't recommend these.

These drill bits are short and sturdy-perfect for working where space is limited. Used with cutting oil, these bits drill through mild steel like butter.
