The item description states that this is compatible with a 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500 and is "Plug and play". Although the ignition switch fit fine, the door locks do not. You can see the difference in the picture. The one on the left is the original lock and the one on the right is the new one, both oriented the same way. You can clearly see that the new one will not fit the swing arm (placed above in the picture) that attaches to the locking rod.From what I can tell in various listings, it appears that all these aftermarket locks use the same design, so none of them would fit my truck as-is. Some listings for the door locks only, also seem to use this design, but come with new matching swing arms. I may be able to dremel out the hole in the old swing arm to fit the new lock, but I shouldn't have to. The listings should either state that modification will be necessary, or they should include a matching swing arm.If you're looking at getting one of these sets, just be aware that you may need to modify yours to be able to use the door locks.
