I ordered the 24gr cylinder as a spare for my vest. This is the correct size and thread for my A/M-24 style vest. It does have a date code so you know when it was made. Mine does not use the clip. A spare bobbin would have been nice at this price.There is no way to tell if these work until it is installed, and you need it to inflate. Hopefully it works as described. I wish these were more affordable.

CO2 Manual Inflatable PFD-Rearming Kit, February 2025Though I've never needed it, I've been spending more time paddling in the boonies and realize I should have a replacement canister with me. I wouldn't want to abort a trip because of a spent canister. My life jacket is an older one with manual only inflation so this is perfect.With any luck, I'll never have to discharge this but if I do, I'll edit this report to share my experience with the cartridge.

This kit is not designed for automatic PFD's as it does not include the bobbin. I knew that. It's intended for manual PDF's.The cylinder looks just like the other ones I've used successfully. I hope to never have it discharge as that means I fell in the lake/river.For the right price I'd buy this. There are cheaper options out there that include the bobbin, which I need. Shop around!

My Onyx M 24 inflatable lifejacket was left in my vehicle in the summer sun and automatically inflated because it got too hot. All I needed was a replacement CO2 cartridge and this fit the bill. Threaded perfectly into the life vest and it’s pretty much identical to the one it replaced. Highly recommended!

I am giving this kit the minimum 1-star rating because the kit I received is missing the green clip that is needed for some models of inflatable PFD. See my photo showing the CO2 cylinder in the box – the two small holes that hold the green clip haven’t even been punched through. The clip is meant to break when the PFD is inflated, and is replaced with a new clip to show that the CO2 cylinder has been replaced.I am sure I could return this in exchange for another kit that hopefully has the missing clip. But if I needed a re-arm kit NOW, the delay could be a problem. Fortunately, I only need the CO2 cylinder because my Mustang Survival brand PFD does not use the green clip.Nominally, this re-arm kit would have everything needed for a manual-inflate PFD, but just be sure that your PFD is compatible. Some use a different type of green clip, and new hydrostatic PFDs use an entirely different system instead of the bobbin. Also, some PFDs, such as my Mustang Survival, have a bayonet collar on the CO2 cartridge which is not included in this kit. Those bayonet collars screw onto the CO2 cartridge, and some are secured with some glue as well. I have found that you can often unscrew the collar from an exhausted CO2 cylinder, even with the glue there, and re-use the collar.
