I own a great pair of ski mittens but wanted something a little lighter and more tactile.On the first use I discovered that these gloves are not windproof. Even when you do not get them wet your hands will freeze in sub-zero temperatures. Just walking around I could feel the cold penetrating (it was around -10C with a little breeze). Not sure how much good the Omni-Heat layer is doing here (the same layer works very well in my Columbia snow pants). Definitely not climbing any summits with this or running around in the cold with them, so the name seems somewhat misleading.They protected my hands from the metal and plastic of my snow shovel compared to touching it with bare hands, but I would compare their effectiveness to that of a knitted wool glove.Size L was true-to-size as listed in the chart. I like the fit and blue colour.Using a touchscreen on a smartphone is possible, as advertised, but do not expect the same precision as without. The tips for the index finger and thumb both work.

Warm for near O degrees weather, light gloves and good for screen use. Very pleased.

It is soft and comfortable for work, all Columbia wears are great.
