I found a great deal on a very low mile 2010 Corolla last year but within 1 week of purchase the check engine light came on reporting a P0420 engine code. (Problem with the catalytic converter). Seeing that the car is 13 years old and only had 18K miles I figured some build had occurred from sitting. Over the period of about 6 months I tried multiple bottles and brands of catalytic converter cleaner which would work for 2-3 weeks and then throw the code again. After the error got more frequent I decided it needed replaced. Looking at an OEM one to replace would have been around $2K with labor which was way too high. I found this one and figured it was worth a try.I took it to my local muffler shop and they had the original one off and this one on in about 20 minutes. I have used this shop many times and they are very good at what they do. They charged me $140 for the service and so far it has been working great for a month. I hope this continues to work fine for many years to come. If I experience any issues I will update this review but so far, its working great.

Passed inspection and it hasn't failed updated 03/21/23 unfortunately the compression was bad on the engine in 2009 Toyota Corolla so I sold the car but it didn't have any check engine code except cylinder 3 which was due to compression

Installed this on my 2009 toyota corolla ce (Canadian made corolla). This is a very nice piece of exhaust, but I could not install it with only the parts given. Where you need to splice this into the original exhaust, it is right where a resonator is. I had to cut out my resonator further back towards the muffler, and get a piece of 2" OD pipe to fill the extra gap I created, along with 2 other band clamps to connect everything together. I did not use the supplied bolts as they were too small of a thread and wouldn't work for me. Otherwise the flange and gasket were correct for where the cat connects to the exhaust manifold. Basically I had to purchase 20" of 2" OD exhaust pipe and 2 band clamps to make this work while using my original bolts and springs for the flange connection. Also needed a grinder and welder to transfer hanger brackets from removed resonator to new pipe. Much cheaper than purchasing from Toyota, just don't expect it to be "plug and play " for a Canadian made corolla. Perhaps it is meant for Japanese built corolla? Very happy so far. I tried to post pictures but Amazon app not working correctly, will update with pics later if possible.

Perfect fit in terms of the flange end and pipe bends. I did have to Mig weld the pipe at the resonator end. My 2009 Matrix had a secondary resonator that required a little trimming with a disc grinder to have the new pipe fit in its opening.Tack the pipe with as Mig/Tig and then drop the pipe from the rubber hangers enough to complete the 360 degree weld to seal off the connection. Lift the pipe back up and bolt it to the header pipe. I found the supplied bolts were smaller diameter than the original, they passed through the old nuts that are welded to the connector. No issues at all, and at least $1K less expensive than a muffler shop. You may have to use a torch to heat the old catalytic converter near the sensor to get unscrewed without breaking it. It’s a pricy replacement take your time with the sensor. A little anti-seize on the threads will make sensor remove easier in the future, if you keep the car that long :)

Perfect Fit, had to cut to fix in my resonator and weld it. Buy if you have a welder or dont have resonator
